Re: A Question regarding dinner tonight

Hi,

I also have a question about something I want to have for dinner. I

want to have some fried fish tonight but I don't no if the meal

that's put on the fish will count as carbs. I'm of coarse going to

have 2 slices of bread which will be my 28 grams of carbs.

Hi Terri,

I can't remember how long but I can tell you how to judge it.

For Halibut steaks for instance.

Always keep the fish frozen. Raw fish degenerates very rapidly and, if

it smells real loud, it is getting ready to be over the hill.

Anyway, rub the frozen fish steaks with whatever seasoning you might

want. Some Basil and a little grated ginger is always a good choice.

Also, before you rub on the dry spices rub the fish down with a lemon or

lime sliced in quarters. This will help the seasonings stick to the

fish.

Place the steaks on a microwave safe dish and start out with probably 2

minutes. (this presumes a 1000 watt microwave) This also presumes you

are cooking more than 1 steak at a time.

When the timer goes off open the microwave and touch the fish with your

finger. If it feels like it is thawed (it should feel wet and soft) you

are making good headway. Squeeze on a little more lime or lemon to keep

the fish moist. I also presume you have a carousel microwave which turns

the food so it wil cook evenly.

Give it another 2 minutes and check again. I would turn the fish over

after the second cooking time and put on a little more lemon or lime

juice. You could also mix the lemon with som garlic butter and use this

mixture to moisten the fish.

When the fish is done it will feel solid to the touch. Depending on how

large and thick the steaks are it should probably take 8 or so minutes

cooking time. Probably 10 minutes for 3 or 4 steaks. Just give it a try

and I think you will do okay...

Hi Cy, Do you know how to cook the fish in the microwave? If so how

long

do you cook the fish in there. Thanks.
