Guest guest
lrc - That is so true! The best thing for my sugars was when we adopted our furry walking machine! She needs to be walked twice a day and it takes 15 minutes to go around the block - it makes a huge difference in many ways. One thing about type 2 though is that it is a progressive disease, and sometimes, even if you are doing everything they tell you, you will need changes in meds, amounts of foods, etc. My recent BS spike was because I was taken off Avandia and when it was finally all out of my system, no amount of exercise or careful food choices would help. Once we adjusted my other meds, it's been fine. The interesting thing about that was that I felt like I was a total failure because I couldn't get them down. I even fasted for two days to "prove" it wasn't what I was eating. Silly! When I called the doc about it, she said three other pts. who had been taken off Avandia at the same time had called that week and we needed to adjust my meds. It's kinda' scary for me to realize how much I base my self worth on numbers - just like getting on a scale used to determine if I was "good" or "bad", now I think I'm substituting my BS numbers. This is actually quite insightful for me and just being able to type it has given me some new perspective. IE is such a journey! Ah, well, time to walk my fuzzy fitness coach;-) CW Be a better Globetrotter. Get better travel answers from someone who knows.Yahoo! Answers - Check it out.
