Guest guest
, don't even bother with this! I think this discussion has reached the point of no winners - neither of you is going to find the thing to type that will convince the other to back down and admit defeat. If you feel the need to counter every thing he sends, please just respond to Jerome directly and you two can email each other until you are 93 How about we think up some more low-carb things we can help you make for your boyfriend! Tell us a bit more about him! Kirstie
Guest guest
This whole conversation , I think got WAY out of proportion...it saddens and hurts me to see what this group has turned into, and I'm hoping it's just carb withdrawls and PMS that is making so many people so cranky. But I just HAVE to throw a few comments in here...read what I write, consider what I say. I will read all replies, but in keeping with my own nature, ones that are not to the benefit of the group will be ignored. This group has been an important part of my life for the last year or so. I owe a lot of what I've accomplished to this group, and had it not been for this group I would have fallen off a long time ago, so it is with love and gratitude I write this. We were all newbies here at one time, and the last thing we want to do is to scare new people away...lest they think the diet makes us nasty. > , now you mentioned that you eat eggs and dairy product, > why are you still very attached to diet identity of being a > vegetarian? By eating eggs and dairy product, we can claim you're a > meat eater! > > > regards/ > Jerome Tan > jtan@... > Mobile: +639175277928 I think I can help clarify this. First of all, Jerome may be one of the few poeple who considers dairy to be meat...even under Kosher dietary law (which is quite strict) it is dictated that meat and dairy must be kept separate at all times. So if he considers dairy to be meat...well, most of the world will disagree... However...I have worked with a few Philipinos over the years...learned a little Tagalog, and found out a number of strange (to us in the USA) eating habits. Aristo was telling us about the way they eat eggs - 12 day, 14 day, 15 day, etc...those of you who don't understand, think back to biology class in school. I can understand why that in the ines, THEY would consider eggs to be meat. Of course, here in the US, where eating fertilized eggs would be considered disgusting, eggs are not considered meat... People, we need to re-establish ourselves here . I have never seen this list bash vegetarians before; in fact I remember a few months ago when another vegetarian came abord and was treated like...well, like the others here. Even Dr. Atkins says that vegetarianism and the Atkins diet are not mutually exclusive, only that it would be hard for a vegetarian to follow it due to a lack of choices. My sister is a vegetarian...it was her choice, and I support her completely. She has been doing this for quite a few years, and although I'm not really sure why she did it, she is doing it. This is her choice...just as I have chosen to become an Atkins WOLFie. Now we have a vegetarian climb aboard, wanting to help her SO in his particular choice of Atkins. So what happens? Bash the vegetarian? I'm ashamed at you! It took compassion for her to do this in the first place. I think welcomes should be in order. We have to be nice to one another here...if we aren't, we will be like so many other groups that have become divided...I don't remember who it was that said we must hang together or we will hang separately. Please let's be nice...keep negativity down, because it can do nothing but hurt. Perhaps will come back, and there is one last thing I'd like to mention: My mother always said that it takes two to fight. I haven't been in a fight in years - I refuse to be party to one. Someone makes comments I don't like...like we used to say in the BBS days, take it to netmail (what we would today call private E-mail). Keep in mind that people are coming here for help and advice. Usually one of the best helps we can give is to NOT give advice that is not asked for. It is my sincere hope that comes back to join us...please let's keep in mind what we're here for. We are NOT here to attack one another! I moderate three lists and belong to 15, in addition to running a FTP server. I am the supervisor of my department at work, in addition to running my own business and taking care of a wife that is only partially self-sufficient. I have enough problems every day without adding petty bickering to the list. But, I chalked it up to a language barrier. I seriously doubted that people really believe that. Not to start anything up again, but even though most of us here eat meat, that doesn't mean that we always have or don't have veggie family and friends. I was sorry to see that left, I think she could have gotten a lot out of the list. Dana

Guest guest
Had introduced herself and TOLD everyone that there was a vegetarian on the list, it would have never started. She jumped out of lurkdom defensively over what someone had posted. She was a pretty good sport about what followed for awhile, though. (IMHO) I guess I'd better add a ) for Kirstie.....so everyone can say that I'm saying this nicely!

Guest guest
Tonia, I thought you'd get a kick out of that! Don't know when we'll be coming that way, but would let you know ahead--and we won't sit and take a picture of the house first! Should I send the map to ? Sorry Gene is having so much trouble--hope they can figure out what's causing it! How long has it been since the accident? Love, ! Alright , ya smart-*ss! lmao....I got your letter today with the map.....and died laughing! Gene couldn't figure out what I was laughing about until I told him....and he thought it was funny too! An easy hint....just take I-80 thru Iowa, hit I-680 when it splits almost 10 miles from the end of the road....and get on I-29 North. within 25 miles, you'll find me! lol...easy enough really...just I knew that it would be really hard to find me on a regular map! So, when are ya coming this way?? lol......I'll set the booby traps out at the exit ramp! J/K...I wouldn't be that mean...hehehehe! Tonia Oh, and re-read the letter, I knew there was something else in it! duhhhh I had to make Gene another dr. appt for today....his neck/back/shoulders are worse for some reason, and the PA ordered more x-rays to check out his spine....mainly the T-3 area where its hurting the worst and is swelled up a little. His spine, and everything on the x-rays looks real good....he let us look at them too....everything is exactly where its supposed to be. Now, though, if he's still hurting the same or worse....in like 3 weeks, I'm gonna tell them to order an MRI or an EMG. We definately know its not the bones....but I still think its something screwy with the muscles, and the only way to find out is to have him go in for the tests! ____________________________________________________ IncrediMail - Email has finally evolved - Click Here
