Guest guest
A minority in a a Caucasian room vs. a vegetarian in a meat eater list are two different analogy. You know, the issue is about "diet" and not "racial." The list after all is a "diet" list focusing on Atkins' diet. I can see why you bring up such a very un-intellectual analogy. Obviously, that should have been the result of your *being* vegetarianism. regards/Jerome Tanjtan@...Mobile: +639175277928 Re: ! I am not out of line. I have every right to defend myself against ignorance, no matter where it exists. I don't have anything against eating meat. Why do I keep finding myself saying that! Yes, vegetarianism is a word. Since I am a vegetarian, I shouldn't say something when someone makes a blanket statement that vegetarians are dumb. That's like saying that a minority person in a Caucasian room shouldn't speak up for himself. He would be no more out of line than I. I am not defending my vegetarianism. I am just saying I don't like being called dumb simply because I don't eat meat. That was what spurred this whole thing to begin with. Guest guest
Do some search on 'neurological' disorders on those sites I mentioned. regards/Jerome Tanjtan@...Mobile: +639175277928 Re: ! You have no right to bash me on my lifestyle choice. No where in that literature that you published did it talk about them dull because of B12 deficiency - and again - they were talking about vegetarians that didn't follow a healthy vegetarian diet. If they are vegans, they weren't taking supplements. I am not a stupid person, Jerome. I am also not mean spirited, as I see you are. You know, some people said you misunderstood the original post because of a language barrier. There's nothing wrong with your English at all. I think it's you whose lacking in B12. I am here to help my boyfriend. You are here to be mean, hateful and spread ignorance. It was a valid argument. I said you didn't have a right to generalize on ANY group - race, religion or LIFESTYLE choice. I am not dumb, dull or a religiously fanatic zealot. Guest guest
I think most people on the list already know the missing parts of Atkins, just recently I saw a book authored by Dr. Atkins about the essential vitamins and minerals. I'm planning to buy it when I saw it again. , now you mentioned that you eat eggs and dairy product, why are you still very attached to diet identity of being a vegetarian? By eating eggs and dairy product, we can claim you're a meat eater! regards/Jerome Tanjtan@...Mobile: +639175277928 Re: ! You can go to this website http://www.hcrc.org/faqs/atkins.html and do a little research of your own. I'm sure there are many more. The point is, all this research is on diets in the extreme. I never said that a strict vegan diet devoid of nutrients and vitamins was healthful. I have been saying that any diet is unhealthful if taken to an extreme. No one can argue that point. The links you are referring to are about vegans (people who eat NO animal products AT ALL) who do not take supplements. It is true that some form of vitamin B12 exist in plants but are not useable by humans making a vitamin supplement necessary for vegans. I am ova-lacto vegetarian. I eat eggs and dairy products. I question any one who takes extreme measures in dieting. Binging, not eating, eating the wrong foods, staying on induction for months, not eating enough protein or nutrients (including fat) or ensuring proper vitamin intake all lead to negative, if not fatal, results. I am not uneducated on this subject. I am talking moderation and you continually point to the extremes.

I've stated several times that I'm ovalacto vegetarian. There is such a category of vegetarians. Have you ever read Vegetarian Times? I am not Vegan - many vegetarians aren't. Look it up. Do the research. I am not arguing this point with some argumentative blow hard who thinks he knows everything. I am going to bed now. I am not interested in continuing this debate when you obviously don't know what you're talking about. You opened your mouth and I caught you with your pants down (it's really just a point and giggle). Come back when you actually have some intelligent information instead of misinformation. Guest guest
If I remember correctly, in Atkins' book, he says that you can stay on induction as long as you feel good. Course, that would be with taking the vitamins/supplements. I've been on induction since I started in late November. My only deviance from induction was to add some nuts occasionally (macadamias), which he says to not eat during induction. Dwen Kathy M wrote: .... Guest guest
, don't even bother with this! I think this discussion has reached the point of no winners - neither of you is going to find the thing to type that will convince the other to back down and admit defeat. If you feel the need to counter every thing he sends, please just respond to Jerome directly and you two can email each other until you are 93 How about we think up some more low-carb things we can help you make for your boyfriend! Tell us a bit more about him! Kirstie
