Guest guest
My motto is " Anything and everything in moderation. " I then go on to educate them what is " moderation " because I think that is where America has gone astray. It's either black or white - I'm doing good, I only eat low-fat, no carb, organic, " good " food (do you see the point I'm trying to make?). Or it's I'm doing bad - I had pizza last night. The client feels like they have had a " bad " food, therefore they've been " bad. " I try to teach the balance. I have had great success with this. My clients eventually have a healthy relationship with food and therefore what they are wanting (weight loss, lower cholesterol, diabetes control, etc) happens. I do try to educate on specific topics when needed, but my main focus is moderation. From what I've been reading lately, I'm getting the impression that some dietitians are not doing this. I'm not trying to criticize, I'm just trying to understand. What is your focus or message when you educate?
