Guest guest
I'm a type 2, newly dx't and I'm hooked on diet coke - more recently the new lemon flavor. >>>>>>>>>>>> Me too. . . .I drink at least 12 per day, usually more. My wife did buy a box of Splenda and it's good stuff, but the only thing I ever used Sugar on was cereal and at this point, I'm OFF cereal:-). We've looked all over for the Splenda sodas and can't find them here in the Twin Cities. Art

Several members here have mentioned very high consumption of colas. Keep in mind that caffeine is a " drug " that affects our hormonal system, etc. Many people find that the caffeine in, say, more than one cup of coffee or coke per day can significantly increase blood sugar levels, followed by reactive lows -- i.e., can contribute to an exaggerated roller coaster pattern. Guest guest
Art if you want to get off the caffeine, just start with 1/2 regular and 1/2 decaf (coke and coffee) then keep reducing it. Pretty soon you won't tell the difference. This is what I did after haveing an irregular heart beat years ago. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Thanks Phyllis:-) But until someone convinces me that drinking the caffeine all day and evening is worse for me than eating all day and evening, I'll stick with the caffeine.
