Guest guest
Someone in my other IE discussion group brought something up to me that made me think of this question. For me, I did not do a lot of emotional work before I got into IE. I found that though there were some emotional reasons I ate sometimes, I could actually identify those reasons better once I stopped,....well..eating them! If we are working on the emotional stuff but still carrying excess uncomfortible weight after we have been at this for awhile are we really listening to our bodies? Are we making it more complicated then it has to be sometimes? What then is more important. Figuring out the emotional reasons (if any) or put the guidlines into practice and learning by doing? I wonder sometimes if putting emotions with our eating practices can actually get in the way of doing what our bodies would ask us to do. Makingit more complex then it was designed to be? not wanting to step on anyones toes who does feel they have a strong emotional basis for over-eating, just wanting to know if thier are others who have found it more beneficial to simply practice and learn by doing first?
