Guest guest
My personal feeling is, if you've let your body get to the point of nausea & headache, you've waited too long to honor your hunger and your blood sugar has plummeted; this is actually hard on your body. I would suggest (and this is what I do) that when your stomach growls the FIRST few times (or even JUST before that point, when you feel a little " hollow " )--that you ask it what it's craving and sit down and feed it, undistracted. Don't wait. Because that IS hunger. I think you're letting yourself get too ravenous. I remember reading in Thin Within years ago (probably 20, now) something about " riding your '0' " when you're hungry, but I personally don't believe in that. It's not about withholding food--we've done that with all the diets we've ever been on. It's about putting food--all of it, wonderful food, " hummers, " things we personally love--into our bodies. I can remember being ravenously hungry after long hikes and the first bites of food afterward DID taste heavenly. But in my everyday life, I do like to eat when I'm at " comfortably hungry. " It's more rational for me and I don't feel like stripping the paint off the walls. Migraines run in my family, too, so letting my bloodsugar get so low is a bad idea. When my bloodsugar plummets, I can be VERY unpleasant to be around... ;-) ~Caitlin > > Hi Everyone! > > I have been working on exploring my hunger signals and it is not as > easy as I thought it would be.
