Well, I finally got to see the doc today. This is what he prescribed:

Bi-Est .625 (80-20) TR Caps

Prgesterone 150 mg TR Caps

Testosterone 0.25 mg Caps

Cortisol 2.5mg Caps

He also put me on a regimen of Dr. 's Super AdrenalStress Complex

Formula which is as follows:

5 pills a day for 2 weeks (divided, of course...brkfst:2, lunch:1, dinner:2

4 pills " " " " "

3 pills " " " " "

2 pills " " " " "

1 pill axday for 6 weeks

Any comments on whether this seems to fall into place with what you've learned

from experiences, successes, etc?

I just want to get better. I know that stress is not good right now, but it

can't be helped. As I said before, I think we found our house (as long as it

passes inspection, etc.), and then our daughter is supposed to have triplets...I

just hope that she can go pretty far into the pregnancy. Anyway, those are two

things that I cannot do anything about. But, otherwise, open to suggestions!

Thanks,

C., Houston

Hi Val,

You must be one busy woman! Thanks for your reply. I didn't have

any saliva tests done for any thyroid functions. Don't know why...

This part is just griping! I'm so put out and disappointed with him.

I had begged to have a meeting over the phone instead of going in,

but...no way! It was too important that he be able to draw diagrams

and explain everything to me in detail, and on and on. Sooooo, I

wait until he has the 30-45 min. required for this type of appt.

After telling me that I'm right at adrenal failure or words to that

effect, both a.m. and p.m.)and instant presto, what do you know, I'm

out of his office in 10 min. or less with the scripts in hand and

told to come back in one month, even though I told him that I am

supposed to move in one month. I can let him know in 1 week how I'm

doing (at least I think he said that). I am so very disappointed in

him. That was a $150.00 office visit, on top of about $240-$280 for

the test itself. I've been sick as a dog since last Tuesday yet I

spent a very harried hour getting all of my vitamin info. together

for him that he requested and he didn't really even glance at it

except from a distance...and said, yeah, it looked like it had the

same stuff in it...One of the new vitamins that I bought from

Lessman has TWO pages of ingredients listed! No way he could have

told what was in it or not. Since I'd used up all of my energy by

that point, I didn't confront him as he was giving me all the signs

that he was through with me. I had asked the office to make sure

that he had time for me as I would rather re-schedule than not have

him have time for me...that this was important to me. oh well....So,

yeah, I really don't know whether to put too much faith in this guy

or not...I've thought about calling and saying that my hubby was

going to come in with me to finish what he started so that we could

understand what i'm dealing with. Of course, that's frustrating as

heck...as most people (even women) in power positions will respond to

a man's demands rather than a woman's.

O.K., I've got to stop writing or ya'll are going to kick me off this

group. I know that this sound horribly negative. But between the

chronic pain, the move, and the triplets and all that may

involve...well, I need to be at my best...

Thanks for reading this, if you got this far! I know that everyone

on this site has their own problems for sure! and in spades!

Thanks for any suggestions, or feedback.

Hi ,

I'm glad to see you got some rx's out of your dr's visit. 2.5mg of

cortisol is at least a start, how many times a day. give it some time

and it will work wonders. I have been taking s formulas for a

while. The adrenal stress is good for relaxing, but not for energy I

usually only take at night or when I'm stressed it does work pretty

well. You may want to also look at his Adrenal rebuilder I take that

with HC, I think in the long run it really will help to rebuild the

adrenal tissues. Despite how you feel now, it will get better, keep

checking your own symptoms and how you feel, the HC took a good 2

weeks before my body started to respond. What about your Thyroid i may

have missed this post. Anway, the best of luck to you, take care

Hi C... C. here!

That was a terribly disappointing doctors' appointment. I've got one on Monday

and I need to find some abstracts to bring with me about adrenal fatigue and

treatment with HC. So I've got my work cut out for me.

You have your work cut out for you too. Try to limit stresses as much as

possible. I know your daughter is going to have triplets, but you've got to

recognize your limitations hon. Does she have in-laws who can help? I'm not

sure this is going to be good for you...possibly three crying babies and you

with no stress-coping capability to help you help your daughter. I'm not trying

to put you down...I am trying to for-warn you that stress will make your adrenal

problem much worse.

I'm in the throws of an unfolding family drama and last night yet another

help-me-I've-gotten-myself-into-another-major-mess-would-you-come-clean-it-

up-and-keep-me from-suffering-the-consequences-of-my-actions situation. My

hubby is my brakes and he patiently talked to me and helped me realize I was

being drawn in again. Just that much stress has put me down hard today. So be

careful sweetie. One baby would be stressful, but three! Oh boy!!!

Good luck with your treatment. You're in a good place here for the best of

advice!

Hi Duane,

Thanks for the encouraging words!

No,we didn't do saliva tests for the Thyroid stuff. My blood tests have shown

within normal ranges, maybe toward the lower side within that, but not sure.

So, it sounds like I do need to go ahead and take my usual vitamin. The vitamin

he had me buy is missing a lot of stuff that I think is important. I wasn't

aware of the other vitamin that Dr. has. Sounds like I should definitely

check it out. So, do doctors usually tell patients that they are on the brink

of adrenal failure? A friend of mine had her adrenals checked with a diff. lab

and was told basically the same thing, although he did emphasize the importance

of rest and avoidance of stress. I know that the chronic pain has been really

hard on my body over the past 30 plus years and that I have been going downhill

even more than usual for a number of years and not been able to figure out how

to " fix it " . So, maybe this is the answer. I sure hope so. I tried to ask the

dr about HC, but didn't get a

response. I know that I read about HC, but am still very foggy brained from

this flu. Is the HC something that I should try? Is a prescription needed?

This has been one mean bug, let me tell you! Hope it doesn't make the rounds

with this group or their families!

Thank you so much for your response. It means a lot when someone takes the

time to write!

Take care,

C., in Houston

Hi C in Houston!

Lake Worth, Florida is where I live. Sorry I can't recommend a doc even in my

town or general vicinity! South Florida is the worst with all the HMOs and

senior citizens who nobody listens too and over medicates!

Yes, I think a wait and see approach is always good when starting something new.

And I try...try is the goal, I don't always do this LOL...to change or add just

one thing at a time. That way if something causes an ill effect, I know what it

is right off the bat.

Good luck sweetie. You really really would be well-served to scrape your

pennies together for a saliva test. It'll tell you exactly what you need to do

and then you don't have to depend on your doctor. It took me a long time, but I

finally got frustrated enough at being so sick and losing so much time and

ground that I began self-medicating. Best thing I ever did!

C.in Lake Worth :)

Coke wrote: So, hi again, C.!

Lake Worth sounds familiar. Any chance that it is in the northern part of

Texas? If so, do you have a fantastic dr., or whatever initials would go with

someone who does what we need...a D.O., or whatever in the Fort Worth, TX area?

Or do we not ask things like that on this site?

Hope that your appt. goes well. I'm still thinking of calling and asking for

the rest of my appt. I need more input than he gave me to help me understand

where I am...I don't know how close to the " bottom " I am. How much jeopardy am

I putting myself in by overdoing it, etc. On the one hand, he makes it sound

pretty bad, but on the other, he gives no advice... I guess I can let 6 days go

by (he's closed 1/2 day on Fri., so I can't go the whole 7) and see how I feel.

That way, I can give some feedback as well as get some hopefully. Sound like a

good plan?

Thanks for your input! I need all I can get.

Hi C. in Houston,

Yes, Progesterone can have a calming effect! :) I'm so glad you ordered the

saliva testing. You will learn exactly what you need and what you don't need in

terms of thyroid, adrenal and sex hormones. Takes a lot of the guessing out of

this and doesn't waste your precious time. :)

Coke wrote: Hi C., in Lake Worth,

Well, I've already spent the big $$$ on the saliva testing...just still

confused about so much. But, he just thinks that if I do what he says that I

will start doing ok.

I wonder if anyone else has had trouble with progesterone making them VERY

sleepy during the day. I called him and he said to just take it at night for a

while and give my body a chance to get used to it. (actually, his first words

were " are you SURE that it's making you THAT sleepy? " )...naw, i just thought

i'd call him up for grins...lol. So, i guess that means that it doesn't bother

too many people in that manner...the sleepiness.

Well, thanks for the input,

in Houston
