Guest guest
It's very sad that some people are so cold & insensitive. At least you have a wonderful hubby, and you don't have to listen to parents all the time. Truth is, they would not know how to handle it. > > Hi everyone, > I am fortunate to have a wonderful hubby who only knows me with RA and is incredibly understanding. He cooks, cleans, walks the dog, cuts my food if needed. I wish I could clone him for you! > However, my parents and grandma were never understanding about my RA. I was dx'd in PA while at college and my family is in NYC. My dad's way of dealing with uncomfortable things is to make fun of them. When I was swollen from 80 mg/day of prednisone, he told me to walk around the block to lose weight. > My diagnosis was my last semester in college and I moved home for 6 months since I was still under my parents' health insurance. > Recently, my mom has been much more understanding, especially after she was dx'd with COPD 2 years ago. She is on the lung transplant list. > > Take care, > Steph in VA >
