Guest guest
Hi there guys,I just started taking Plaquenil yesterday in addition to the MTX and Prednisone I'm already taking. I'd like to hear some feedback on this drug, good or bad. I hope to hear from you guys. Thanks........
Guest guest
I have been on Plaquinil for a few years and it has worked really well for me. I am coming out of my first ever flare, but before that, all of my swelling, redness and joint pain was gone. My morning stiffness was also gone. However, I still have some fatigue and I can't say that I ever have a feeling of " wellbeing " and I miss that. I do exercise in a fairly strenuous manner, and I don't feel that " exercise high " when I'm finished like I did before the RA struck. I see an eye doctor every 6 months and so far, no problems. I also look at an eye chart daily. This chart would identify any problems between visits. My eye doctor said the side effects to the eye are rare, but are not reversable, so you have to really watch it. My Rheumy is conservative. I see that others start on more agressive drugs more quickly in their course and I'm sorry to say that I don't know enough about RA to determine if that is good or bad. I guess that's why I'm here. Guest guest
Thanks for the info , my Rheumy told me about the possible vision problems, so he referred me to an opthamologist to get my first eye exam and every 6 months there after. I'm hoping that the Plaquinil will work for me as it did for you........ Linthicum <lin@...> wrote: I have been on Plaquinil for a few years and it has worked really well for me. Guest guest
I have been on Plaquinil for six months and have found that this drug works extremely well for me. My pain is nearly non-existent, although I still experience a flare up on occasion. I take Plaquinil and a non-inflammatory. I am able to do things pain-free; six months ago I never thought I would be this close to pain-free again. I think it is a drug that is worth a try, because the results can be very good. Guest guest
I take plaquenil and I don't have any side effects... I know I am rare in that case. A friend of mine was on plauenil and had severe stomach pain and stopped it. Hopefully you won't have any side effects. > > I'd like to ask if anyone here takes plaquenil? My dr prescribed it > today for my RA and for my APLAS. I was wondering about info on side > effects. I've read the info and some seem very hairy... >
