Guest guest
This paragraph below was posted on an allergy listserv - Flour traces on beans. . . Have others that need to be gluten free found instances like this. . I don't recall hearing of the need to rinse beans - but it makes perfect sense. I recall (as a farm-kid) that we used the same equipment to harvest the soybeans that was used to harvest the wheat, barley and rye. I'd assume that if a grain wasn't specifically handled and harvested to be gluten free, most any grain or seed might contain traces of wheat flour and should be rinsed off. Comments? Jan Patenaude It's not worth cheating. I didn't wash the lentils well recently, definitely had gluten in it - took me 3 days to recover from the effects - not worth it.... Being emotional can easily make us cheat, so for me, I keep fast gf food around to grab instead. For instance, cheese, I love cheese but I'm allergic to it, so I have gf cookies or crackers, also I found gf turkey pastrami that I'll snack on when I need somet
