Guest guest
Hello all. A little background on me. I'm 37 and work full-time teaching music in a public school K-3. I'm also a professional pianist/harpsichordist. In April, I saw a neurologist because I was having frequent crippling headaches. My MRI image showed that I had been having a series of mini-strokes. The lab work also came back with me testing positive for Rheumatoid factor. The doctor ordered another set of labs in June to determine exactly how positive I tested for Rheumatoid and also a Lupus panel. My father's aunt suffered with Rheumatoid and his sister has Poly-myalgia. I have had occasional bouts with mild cramping/arthritis in my hands and knees in the past, only one time was pretty uncomfortable. However, this week I have discovered my elbows are covered with all these red bumps (of varying sizes); they don't itch or hurt. I now see them on my fingers, knees, and toes. My hands have been cramping so badly this week; feet, too, at times. I haven't been able to practice. All summer I have just laid around with no energy; listless and feeling down. Now the cramping in my hands and feet has me concerned. Does this sound like the onset of rheumatoid arthritis to any of you? I really could use the feedback. Thank you, alana rutledge

Guest guest
Alana, Hi, My mother used to break out in tiny little bumps on her les and torso. She did it for years and the Drs would tell her it was nevres, would put her on Valium for a bit and they would go away. Years later she was dianosed wit Lupus. The Rhummy told her that the bumps were possibly a Lupus flare and the MDs just did not know much about it in the early 60's. Maybe you can ask your Dr about it?
