Guest guest
Hi, Unfortunately, that is exactly what I've been using and excuse my language but it sucks! I just got back from urgent care and my blood sugar reading is 74. I'm happy about that but I am upset and pissed that that machine has been giving me inaccurate readings all this time. I'm also upset that I probably won't be able to keep track of my readings because of this machine. Well, guess I'm going to go and eat something since I really haven't had anything to eat all day except for a piece of cheese and a can of V 8 juice. Talk to you all later and thank you all for your help. At least thanks to you all, if my sugars do get out of control in the future I have a better idea as to how to get them back under control. Thanks again especially you . regards, Terri Re: A Call From the Doctor's nurse Hi Terri, Tell me that you're not using a akucheck voicemate? I use this machine and I no it's not accurate because I use another machine which is very small. I forgot the name of it but when I check my sugar I use both of them at the same time just to see what I come up with. Now this morning I put the blood on the small machine and it came back as 79 and the voicemate came back as 99. I no that the smaller one was accurate because it only use a small amount of blood and I can do it myself. I just have to have someone to read it for me. My mom helped me this morning so that we can compare. My diabetes nurse don't want me to use the little one because some times I don't have someone here to read my readings when she call. So I'm stuck using the voicemate. I'm going to take both in at my next appointment and let her see what the difference is. Otis
Guest guest
this is great news Terri! Sorry you had to experience the false highs on that meter. Hang in there... call the company about the meter and have them ship you a new one. They will do it for free. They could care less about the meter, they make their money from test strips. I have two at home free just because they wanted to get me a backup. Again, they make money on the strips, not the meters. Guest guest
Hi Terr, I'm glad they finally called you back. Hopefully they act quickly and get those sugars down and give you something for your change. Good job educating the nurse. Take care and we'll talk when you can.
