Guest guest
Hi all, Carol, my opthamologist gave me Restasis 6 mos ago. He also gave me a little 'stand/holder'. I can get 3 doses for each eye from each vial. What the holder does is keeps the vial upright, so the tip doesn't touch anything. He agreed that using it once and throwing it out is a waste. I had lost the holder for a few days ----found it in my sons toybox!---- and what I did in the interim was wad up some tin foil and flattened the bottom so it would stay flat on the nightstand, and put the vial in that. Not as pretty as the holder the dr. gave me, but functional. Re: swallowing and sjogrens Posted by: " Dandcmayer@... But you have to be very careful taking it, because " in your mind " you think you should use the whole individual vial, and that is not the case. Especially in the beginning, It will really make your eyes burn. After I shake the vial, I use about 1/2 of it, and then because you have already mixed it you have to discard it. It seemed like such a waste. But it works and if you need it, you can still use moisturinzing eye drops. Especially if you have done lots of reading. I currently have a horrible sore throat, which seems to be from dryness and inflamation. I drink water all night long, and wake up ok, but it gets worse progressively during the day, until I can hardly swallow food at dinner time. There seems like NO saliva at all, I think I need to get mouth dryness gel again to help with eating. Dr. increased my prednisone to 10mg from 5, hoping that will help. Fatigue is just ripping me up. Anyone have any ideas? Carol
Guest guest
Hello ! Do you know where one of those stands could be purchased. I get two uses out of my vials, and there is always more left when I throw it away. Did you enroll in the My Tears (something like that) program on the restassis site? It is a promotion where you send in receipts for seven purchased prescriptions and they send a coupon for a free refill.
