Guest guest
Yes- I was constipated too- I think it's related to the trouble peeing- (the change in your anatomy due to surgery and the balloon)- and the fear of just doing it- After the lap I was afraid- and unable to use my stomach muscles too much- and the more you're constipated the more you get constipated- Had the same problm after Brena's birth- I think you might weant to try a laxative or even a stool softener- If you've never taken a laxative before you might not like the results- can make you have stomach cramps and diarrhea- stool softener's are more mild- wishing you comfort and relief soon! Guest guest
Gwen, I had terrible constipation after my C-section (which I found out later was due to my uterine bleeding, I must of back bled and it caused constipation, after my D & C, I stopped bleeding and constipation went away within 12 hours and this was after 4 weeks of constipation!). Then after my hyst/lap I had no constipation. After my operative hyst. I had no constipation. But then, after my D & C for my fetus most recently, I had constipation for almsot a week, maybe a little longer. It finally went away though. I hope yours does too. Guest guest
First of all...I did get headaches from the Premarin. Also found that taking it before bed reduced symptoms--esp. nausea and increased hunger. Surgery makes you real constipated. It's the anestheia. Also the balloon doesn't help. I would be scared to go cuz I thought I'd push the balloon out. So I took correctol while the balloon was in. I know, that catheter/cord really is a pain in the ass. cheryl >Sorry to post yet another disgusting topic of conversation this week, >but since my surgery last Thursday I have been terribly constipated >and I'm getting very uncomfortable. Guest guest
HI Gwen, I also felt very constipated when the balloon was in. I worry though that laxatives may be pretty harsh. When I was pregnant, my Lamaze teacher swore that eating glazed dried apricots after we delivered was even better than a stool softener. And she was right - they worked beautifully! You can find them in gourmet stores or even really good candy shops. Hope you feel better soon! Sue S.
Guest guest
Gwen, The constipation is from the Premarin and from the original pain killers you were on after the surgery - they will always constipate you. You should try one of those over the counters pills - that will do the trick.
