Dear Forum,

We are happy to introduce our organisation named ‘DESIRE Society’,

(Dedicated for Eradication of Social Illness & a Relief Effort)established in

year 2004 and it was registered under the Andhra Pradesh Registration Act 1971,

in Hyderabad. Ours is a non-profit voluntary organization established in

Hyderabad functioning with an objective of health development of People Living

with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA), providing them by care, support and treatment.

Currently the organization has started the project 10 beded Care and Support

Centre or PLWHA under the title ‘SAHAYA’ (means helping others) in Medak

district, Andhra Pradesh. This is the first kind of care and support centre in

this district. Though the project focus on Medak district, its services reach

PLHAs for entire Andhra Pradesh.The project is sincerely committed to working

with poor and helpless people to overcome the crippling effects of HIV/AIDS,

through this efforts implementation, however priority is given to women and

children as they are identified as most vulnerable to ones

health care.

This year we would like to celebrate the World AIDS Day-2006, at Sangareddy,

Medak district. It is expected that about 1000 people join together to make the

event more successful. We are conducting the awareness programs in industries on

HIV/AIDS to mobilize the industrial workers also to join the event. T-Shirts and

Caps are being printed with AIDS logo and theme of the year. A set of t-shirt

and cap will be distributed to each participant @ 50/- with a nominal

registration fees.

The program includes AIDS awareness rally under the title of " AIDS WALK FOR

LIFE " and awareness meeting. District collector, a state minister, industrial

personnel and medical officers will attend the program.
