Guest guest
Kerry, When my mom was on predisone she ate like a pig too!!!! She said she couldn't control it...she just ate everything. Once they started lowering her doses to get her off of it she didn't eat as much. HTH, Sonya ************************************** See what's free at http://www.aol.com. At first, prednisone made ANY food taste great! I have been on it for 8 years, though, and have no appetite.... I force myself to eat. Enjoying food is a pleasure I miss.... Guest guest
Kerry,....Oh yeah, lol That is one of the side effects I can do without:( One of the reasons I went off the Prednisone. It works so good, but all the yucky effects, we don't need. Glad you got some Vicoden to help you out, take care Tawny

Fortunately, when you stop taking it that goes away. I gained about 40 lbs. in two years taking it. I got off it about six months ago and have lost 51 lbs. plus that " round " look you get with it. It's a real " good guy/bad guy " drug. It does amazing things, but it has terrible side effects. I couldn't wait to get off it once I found out it had ruined my bones and caused severe osteoporosis. It's usually the 4-5 days after I go off of it, that I turn hungry and all the really bad for you things, seem so appealing. Darcy

Its a major fear of mine to get to heavy that I cant come back from it. Im in the mid to mod now and I am happy right where I am. Prednisone is the only meds I have other than pain pills, drs are few and far between here it seems... thanks Kerry Re: [ ] hungry question > When my mom was on predisone she ate like a pig too!!!! Guest guest
I was warned when I started taking Prednisone about the hunger pains, and because I couldn't be as active as normal, I gained about 15 pounds. I didn't really watch my food intake, but did snack on veggies an things like that. When my life's activities balanced out, I lost that weight and now am down about 10 pounds more, but my belly is larger than normal. I'm working on that a little, but the DDD and tendonitis are causing me some grief so I can't exercise like I want.
