Phyllis, your post says it all. You are suffering serious diabetes

complications, including loss of kidney function. You are suffering hypos so

severe that glucose tablets don't pull you up. And you have suffered glucose

spikes that are causing serious diabetes complications. These are the very

things we are working to avoid, with newer medicines, insulins, etc. Let us

all work together to see how we can improve your diabetes control.

A lot of people t hink that's a good thing to use but I much prefer glucose

tabs. With the icing, you can easily eat too much and make your BG go too

high .. then you're headed toward the " rollercoaster " effect. OTOH, glucose

tabs raise your BGs a set amount per tab...generally about 20 points but

YMMV. They're available at all drug stores and taste like candy, IMHO.
