Guest guest
I ask for a few prayers tonight for my son. He has been battling with a knee injury for some time. All the while we thought it was a deep knee bruise caused by a fall. We took him to see a doctor back in November and was told it should be okay. After that visit he had a couple of very bad falls on the ice and may have possibly reinjured the knee. We took him to a doctor on Wednesday and they decided he would need to see an orthopedic specialst for his knee. He is in extreme pain and has been for some time now. He goes for an MRI on his knee the 5th of April (which is very expensive and we are not sure his health insurance will cover it) and then sees the specialist on the 11th of April. We are hopeful that whatever he finds out he will be able to correct without surgery. Today the clinic called me again because when they had taken his blood pressure they found it to be very high. He is only 11 years old and this concerned them very much. He is overweight and has gained a lot of weight in a quick amount of time. They asked me to bring him in today to have it checked again because they wanted to see if it was just because of his nerves when he saw the doctor or if there is something going on. They took it today and it was a bit elevated but not like it was on Wednesday. They also noticed his pulse to be very thready and very rapid and this concerned them too. They decided to place him on a heart monitor for the weekend to listen to his heart and find out what is going on with him. He will have to go into the doctor again on Monday to have some blood work done. They are concerned his thyroid might not be working like it should. The nurse also mentioned there might be an issue with one of the valves in his heart which may be causing the high pulse and blood pressure. If there is a valve issue it could cause some blood clots and they are looking to see if maybe that is what could be causing the pain as well in his knee. Another possible cause for his knee trouble is that the bones are growing faster than the tendons and it is causing severe pain for him. We won't have any answers for sure until after the 11th. I ask again for prayers for my son. I am scared and I am trying my best to keep it together for him because I know he is very scared as well. Thanks again for being such a wonderful group of people who lend such wonderful support. Michele Never miss an email again!Yahoo! Toolbar alerts you the instant new Mail arrives. Check it out.
