b12 shots

Hello Mike,

Starting this week I am to begin giving my 16 yr old b-12 shots. This is a

high functioning spectrum child who just had her navel pierced. Ears already

done in multiples (some herself). Her DAN dr. is hoping this will help with

her terrible fatigue so that she can go back to school this year. For

various reasons she was homebound from January and still finishing up last

year's work. She is complaining already about the prospect of having Mom

inject her even though not at all afraid of the piercings!!!! I can't really

give much advise on this one yet, but just had to chime in. Will your child

put up with the shots? I have read several places that b12 sublinguals are

just as effective. My daughter will swallow the sublinguals, can't be

bothered with waiting for them to disolve. I don't know if they are as

effective that way. Always something.

Is your daughter drinking milk with enzymes? Milk causes chronic

fatigue for me, even with enzymes.

We did the same thing with our son. After hearing so many amazing stories,

separate times and had negative reactions and regression. You are not alone!

Try giving lots of anti-oxidants (Vit c, Vit E, Grape Seed Extract) for a couple

of weeks before starting the B12 shots. And be sure to use TMG and Folinic Acid

as well.

My DAN nutritionist suggested B12 shots for our son as part of his

protocol. We tried them about six months ago and he didn't improve

at all, in fact, he got really hyper. It took about two weeks to

completely get it out of his system. A month ago our nutritionist

suggested it again so we tried it and again he had a negative

reaction to them. My son was extremely hyper and started to regress

slightly. His stimming has increased both visually and physically.

Any suggestions? I have read so many success stories about B12 shots

and vitamin A therapy. He didn't improve with either. I am really

discouraged.

One thing that did help him was Nystatin, which got his yeast

problems under control.

Please help!

I did not try shots, but I tried giving medadoses of B12 orally, and

in the beginning I saw nothing, but with time my son quite regressed

on them. He got too quiet and did not try to say any sounds, while

before he was trying to say words and vocalized a lot. I stopped B12

completely, and he is saying sounds again, but not yet at the level

he was before. His tests showed B12 deficiency, that's why I tried

to increase B12. It's just complex, and does not work for everybody.

If you noticed any improvements with language, try reducing the dose

and giving it with folic or folinic acid.

Depends on the vitamin A " therapy " . How much did you use? My son

needed more than the recommended amount for the two days [if you mean

the high dose protocol], and then he needed LESS [meaning zero] as

maintenance.

Well congrats for that!

, we have seen great results with B12 shots. Within three days

of starting, my son uttered his first three-word sentence -- " Daddy

get down. " His teachers were reporting in days (they didn't and

don't know about the B12) that he was performing the gestures to

circle songs for the first time. We found it so effective that we

now have doubled his dose. He's doing great. If you decide to try

it, e-mail me privately and I'll send you my parent tips for

starting (if you've never given a shot before and you're a bit edgey

like I was).

What an amazing story! Thank you so much for sharing it with me...

it really gives us hope. I pray that we see similar results with our

son!

Try giving folic acid with the shot, see if that helps.

Folinic Acid is supposed to be better.

I am just starting tomorrow. The pre-loaded syringes are $5.00 each plus a

$20 overnight shipping charge. We received 14 syringes. They have a two

month shelf life in the refrigerator but since you give one every three days

this is a six week supply.

Do you have a source of methylcobalamin in sublingual form? The other forms

of B12 are not getting the same results.

I don't know if it would work even if you have the sublingual

methylcobalamin but it couldn't hurt to try it.

You need a prescription, get your own and do it yourself :) We started just

before Christmas. The upper outer quadrant of the buttock is where you want to

put it and it has to be SQ rather than IM.

There is inof and some great video here

_www.drneubrander.com_ (http://www.drneubrander.com)

Good luck, that is very high price to pay, much chepaer on your own. Coastal

and Hopewell will supply in pre filled syringes.

Does anyone administer B12 shots to their child themselves? If so,

is there a specific place that you order them from, or do you get

them from your doctor? At $20 per shot (given by our Dr.), we just

cannot afford to keep doing it. TIA

Check out the Chelatingkids 2 files for methyl-B12, MB12,

or Dr. Neubrander. There is good info there.

there are forms of methylcobalamin online....but I was reading

something about reducing the natural release of melatonin in the

day...

How do you find a happy median? If you want your child to sleep at a

decent hour?

I applaud everyone here, for doing all that you are doing, this is

far from stress free:-)

MISSY

Missy,

I have recently started working with Dr. Martha Grout via phone. She is

based in Phoenix. She has a Florida license as well (I live in FL). She

called

into the pharmacy and they shipped the preloaded syringes here.

I don't know but I think the starting point would be checking if the form of

the B12 is methylcobalamin. Perhaps you could find information on Dr.

Neubrander's site _www.drneubrander.com_ (http://www.drneubrander.com)

If you have a spare $60 I recommned registering for the ARI confernec on

line. I recommned Dr Neubrander who makes it easy to understand the whys and

whats of MB12. There are many other sessions on there too inlcuding the

recovered kids. Here is the link

I have tried the sublingual tabs, but honestly, I didn't see quite

the same effect I did with the shots... not right away any way. I'm

wondering if I'm really seeing results, or if I'm just seeing what I

want to see, you know?

Only 3 weeks, much more 'on', focusing better at school, very cheeky,

flirting to try and get what he wants (which is hard to resist LOL), more vocal

with a good range of sounds, he usually sticks to one sound for a few weeks.

Suits me, we will continue :)

How long have you been giving your child the B12 injections and what

changes

have you seen?
