Guest guest
I get that same feeling. Almost like you have taken a massive dose of painkillers or something. Like you can't keep your eyes open. I wonder what that is. Although if I do get up and exercise I do feel a big better but my sugars can be normal high or low and I get that. I am on insulin. Guest guest
Your blood sugar is quite high, and this will certainly make you feel bad from time to time. When it's too high, as your is, it won't really matter what the numbers are. I'd really suggest you click on the newcomers' link at the bottom of each message and do some reading. Most of us aim for numbers around 100 or less, and after meal numbers of 120 or 140 or less (we're all different, as usual :-). Plus when it goes higher after a meal, if it's high anyway, you will feel sort of hung over. Your tingly feeling can be the start of diabetic neuropathy - i.e. your high numbers are getting in the way of your circulation. As you start gaining control and your numbers start coming down, you should start feeling in a few days. Barb > Now that I am diabetic and and monitoring myself. when I start feeling bad. > I check my self. My blood sugar could be a bit high or low. lets say my BG > cold be 183 and I feel this way or could be 215 and I feel this way.. Then > times when my blood sugar is 215 or higher I feel fine. The symptoms I am > having is that groggy, drowsy drugged feeling, headache nausea. My fingers > feel numb/tingly etc. I am feeling this way now. Guest guest
Maevey, Your poor body! You are feeling better at the higher levels because that is what you are used to running. 158 is still way too high but is low compared to what you have been running. As your numbers come down, you are going to be feeling weird until your body adapts. Once you are running at " normal " levels, 90's to 115, you will be amazed at how good you really feel. Hang in there... Rita Question about feeling bad and BG levels.... Hello group! Ok. I am really getting confused about the way I start to feel sometimes. Before I was diagnosed and I would have those episodes where I feel bad I was always pretty sure it was prolly related to me possibly being diabetic. In any event. Now that I am diabetic and and monitoring myself. when I start feeling bad. I check my self. My blood sugar could be a bit high or low. lets say my BG cold be 183 and I feel this way or could be 215 and I feel this way.. Then times when my blood sugar is 215 or higher I feel fine. The symptoms I am having is that groggy, drowsy drugged feeling, headache nausea. My fingers feel numb/tingly etc. I am feeling this way now. <snipped>

Guest guest
I used to have the same feelings when I was first diagnosed. Your body is still probably adjusting to the changes that you've, hopefully, made in your diet and routine. It feels like you have low blood sugar but you are still very high. What changed it for me was getting my blood sugar in the normal range. By exercising and lowering carbs, my blood sugar stays between 70 and 110, usually, and my energy has soared. The first two months of my diagnosis I often felt horrible and I couldn't make it through the workday without a nap. Stick with it, Maevey, before you know it you'll be feeling fine. Guest guest
Has anyone else had this experience? Have you found that somedays you just feel bad no matter what your blood sugar seems to be and how it changes? >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Non diabetics have days when they just feel " crappy " too. It takes some time staying consistent at one level before one really starts to feel good most of the time. Art
Guest guest
this same thing has happened to me a few times, and i know someone who says he feels very similar when too low and too high, so he checks every time before having something to eat. in my case, finger tingling and numbness in the mouth is always because of low sugar, but a kind of anxiety and a kind of feeling hot and uneasy happens to me both when high (in the 180-200 range) or low but not too low (60s) i mean, when i'm really low, i'm pretty sure i'm low (40s or 50s). it does have to do with what you're used to be in. if you get used to be in the 100s, 150 can already feel high. I had a time when i was using too much insulin and was in the low ranges all the time, and sometimes i felt pretty good even in the 40s. not recommended of course... that's my experience. federico. > Date: Tue, 2 Apr 2002 10:02:07 EST > From: SidheMeabh@... >Subject: Question about feeling bad and BG levels.... > >Hello group! > Ok.
