Guest guest
Well, yes...avocados plain are pretty bland...if you're going to eat it plain, a squirt of lemon or some lowcarb salad dressing would be good...but mostly I have it in salads. When it's added to greens, its smooth texture makes a wonderful contrast with the crunchy lettuce. It's the only thing I add to lettuce in salad besides dressing and I have about a quarter of an avocado in each salad. And I have a big salad every day with dinner. Guest guest
Oh thank you Vicki for saying it was bland. I tried one and I thought this is gross. I mean I thought we could use that on an episode of fear factor HAHAHA. I will try it on a salad or with something else. Kathy
Guest guest
remember if anyone is on Zoloft you can't have grapefruit. I think it is cause it slows down your secretion of zoloft so that you get a much higher lever. Kathy

Guest guest
I used to eat avocadoes all the time with a garlicky vinaigrette or ranch dressing. Any of Annie's Natural salad dressings are good on avocadoes, but especially Green Goddess/Garlic dressing and Shitake Sesame Vinaigrette. Different varieties of avocadoes vary greatly in flavor, and also vary at different times of the year. Hass avocadoes at the peak of their season are yummy with nothing but fresh lime juice squeezed over them. -- el (andrea@...) - Nevada City, CA, USA " ...wake now! Guest guest
Interesting. I don't find them bland at all! A little dash of salt usually brings out the natural flavor (but then, I guess that's not really plain anyhow!). Although I have had a couple that were less flavorfull than others. The Hass variety tend to taste better to me. *sigh* I miss L.A.! Re: avocado (was schweppes) Well, yes...avocados plain are pretty bland...
