Guest guest
So glad you are back, . So sorry to hear about all the health issues you have had. You sound like you have great spirit and the determination to " keep it going " . Bless you. Thanks for letting me come back Hi Everyone, I have just come back to the list, and I am glad to be back. For those who don't know me, I am , and have been a Type 2 diabetic since 1989. I am on insulin and have been since 1993. I also had breast cancer in 2000 and pancreatic cancer in 2003. I had to have the head of my pancreas removed, so my sugars go everywhere from high to low. I just felt the need to be here with others who are also diabetic since I admired the support Wayne Kerstetter got from here. So when I got myself back together after his death, here I am. I look forward to helping where I can, and also learning ever new things. Prayers and God's Blessings,

Guest guest
Hi , Yes, they say that my attitude is what has kept me going so long. Usually people with pancreatic cancer don't live much more than six months after the diagnosis, but I am almost at the second year. It will be two years in August. It now is creeping back up a bit again, but I'm doing pretty well, only I get very tired easily. Thanks for the kind words. And may God bless you as well. Guest guest
Yes, you are very fortunate that you have survived so long with kind of cancer. You must have a really good doctor! Have you had to endurechemo or radiation? I am wondering how that affects the diabetes. It really sounds like the diabaetes is the least of your problems!! Guest guest
I had chemo in 1983, but right now I'm not having it until I don't feel well. I also have some nodules in my lungs, but they are small, and not changing at all, thanks to Arimidex. The chemo does make my sugar go up but mostly because they give a lot of steroids to help with nausea. Right now, my tumor marker is at 39.6 and the level for cancer is 40, so I'm barely in the normal range, and I will have another CT scan the end of August. Yes, sugar is the least of my problems. But it does go up and down a lot. And there really isn't much I can do about it. They think the nodules in my lungs are possible breast cancer returning, but they are so small that a biopsy is not possible, plus the fact that they are pretty deep into the lungs, and if they remove them, they would have to take quite a bit of each lung. So, I just rest a lot and do the best I can, and keep taking my insulin, trying to keep things on as even a keel as I can. Guest guest
Hi Ken! You know me from Blind Full Gospel, and I used to be on this list a few years ago. It is good to hear from you! And yes, I can't wait! With a bad diagnosis as I have, it is sure one good thing to look forward too!
