Guest guest
Colleagues, There is a lot of anger and disagreement here - that's the reason why new and better ideas can't evolve.? The real bottom line is that most people are in fear of change, and most big corporations and MD's are in fear of losing personal capital -? ask any MD and you will get a negative and passionate answer about the health care reform bill.? Our current healthcare system excludes many people, excludes many health conditions, and invites needless tests and prescriptions.? Our healthcare system is basically run by insurance companies!? That's what President Obama is trying to change.? Ask any Canadian if they like their system - I've only heard good comments.? I also think our current healthcare system encourages poor health and does not discourage excess weight gain.? I had a client who moved to Ireland, was a diabetic, morbidly obese, pregnant, and came back to the US because she wanted to eat the way she normally did.? She told me that in Ireland, if you didn't follow the protocol for diabetes and weight loss you would lose your coverage.? Here in the US, we don't try to stop the overeating with better education, we offer Bariatric Surgery (more money for the surgeons)! ? Do you think these guys are going to vote for Healthcare Reform?? We are all passionate about this one way or another, but think of the millions of people without insurance coverage.? Those of us who are lucky enough to have coverage feel the most threatened by this plan.? President Obama has said over and over again - if you like your plan - keep it!!!? That's the same thing he is doing.? By the way, many people leave the country to get healthcare - they go to India for one. Jacquelyn A.
