Makes sense. I don't keep the pen refrigerated (though I do keep the

extra cartridges refrigerated) but keep the pen in a packback as I

noticed it gets a bit warm in my pocket -- after all, homo sapiens

sapiens does run around 98.6 F! (grin)

I went on lantus leaving ultrelente and to my surprise, it never worked out. If

I increased it to get my morning sugar at 80 or so, I would wake up 35. If I

decreased it, I would wake up 200. So, I tried for 1.5 months to try to master

it and never could. Heck, I even tried split dosing it. I gave up, went back to

ultrelente and my morning bgs are 80 to 90 all the time. 5.0 in Canadian grin.

Hi Jen,

have you thought that it could be your Lantus insulin that has lost its

potency instead of the Humalog?

Recently my levels were running high in the morning. I would go to bed with

7 and then wake up with it being 17!!! I was very frustrated with that for

a number of mornings with it being high but when I changed my cartridge of

Lantus insulin they started to come down and I could decrease my Humalog

insulin once again.
