Guest guest
I missed one more IM that Lyme Aid members are using: (Microsoft) MSN Messenger http://messenger.msn.com/ There are also many other IMs out there you can use. I highlighted these because they can be found in the Instant Messenger Database for Lyme Aid. =) Robynn -Owner [ ] Chats Another way to chat with other members of Lyme Aid is through Instant Messengers (IM). Instant Messengers are programs that you need to download and install into your computer. Once the program is up and running you can add people to your list. The Instant Messenger then tells you when the people on your list are on-line or off. When the people are on-line, you can send them an Instant Message and begin a chat with them. It is possible to have a chat this way with more than one person. Lyme Aid has an Instant Messenger database. To find out who is using which Instant Messenger go to /database and click on " Instant Messengers " . Here you will see who is using which program and what their ID is for that IM. With that ID you can add them to your list if you are using the same IM. To learn more about the three IMs being used by Lyme Aid members please see the following websites: AIM (AOL Instant Messenger) http://www.aim.com/index.adp Messenger http://messenger./ ICQ (I Seek You) http://web.icq.com/ http://www.icq.com/products/ Each program is different and rarely will one program work with another. You can choose to use all Instant Messengers or just use one. How you choose which one(s) to use is completely up to you. Each program is free but does require a little computer knowledge to download and install it. If you have any questions let me know and I will try to help. =) This may help Lyme Aid members get in touch with each other, especially late at night. However, these are PRIVATE conversations that YOU will be responsible for. These are not sanctioned or controlled by Lyme Aid, or me, in any way. You will use these programs and engage in conversations at your own " risk " . I cannot control any behavior that occurs during a private chat. With that said, I know many members have used these program to further on-line friendships started through the list's postings. =) Robynn -Owner
Guest guest
I have noticed that this group has a Monday night chat on AOL, and Gail just mentioned that she hosts a chat on AOL, but I'm wondering if you all ever chat at the site? Also, I'm not on AOL, so I'm assuming I can't go to that chat? Hi Jill! Happy Birthday to Emma! I'd love to hear more about her! I miss Ted being a baby, but every stage has it's rewards! This is one of the reasons, I think, that iVillage broke off from AOL. It seemed like AOL was the only game it town with regularly scheduled chats that one could count on. The home page mentions a variety of chats including 3 on AOL. I know of 2 but not sure when and where the 3rd one is. I am on another group that holds regular chats on Thursdays and Sundays, using the chat room. It is a nice chat room to use and it is there for the using but I don't ever see anyone in this groups room. The chat I host for iVillage is on Thursdays at 9 pm EST Here is the link for it. http://www.ivillage.com/chat They have lots of chats and even at least one other one for Down syndrome that I am aware of. I hope you can come to the Thursday chat at 9 to tell us all about Emma! I just LOVE that name!!! We had a phenomenal group of chatters last week and I am really looking forward to this weeks chat! You can also be a host there is you would like! Gail, mom to Ted (11)

Guest guest
Hi Graham, Yes, I thought Tony was joking but then I started thinking about it and thought.........golly, maybe it is only for the U.K. I'm glad it's cleared up now and we all know any of us can join in any chat. We had a fun chat yesterday and I am going to try and make more of them. xxoo Ca. Carmen

Guest guest
Hi, - this is a small, personal group and we don't have scheduled chats. SmartBandsters does, and I think Bandsters does by now too. Some of the docs, like Dr Kuri, also have regular chats on their own private groups. I personally have found, that with 10-20 or more people all " talking " at once on line, it is nearly impossible to follow along - but that's only my opinion. Others love them.
