Lissi,

If was posting he would tell you that there is only one thing you

need to do to control your Diabetes, count them carbs.....

I can not remember, are you on oral meds or do you use injections?

I agree that there is an enormous amount of confusing, contradicting and

erroneous information out there to confuse, discourage and frustrate

anyone.

It is so very important that you take your readings each and every day

otherwise you really have no idea how your are doing.

Take your fasting reading each morning and that will give you a real

good hint on how you are doing. Take your 2 hour post meal readings.

This will tell you if you are consuming too many carbs and how much

medication you should be using.

Take an evening reading and this will assist you in knowing if you need

to adjust any medications.

I can not stress enough how important it is that you keep track of your

blood sugar readings.

Now, notice that I did not say that these reading all had to be perfect

ones. You just need to absolutely know where you are. What you do about

where you are is your business.

Cy, the Ancient okie...

Re: Mayonnaise

Dear Cy, and Everyone,

Thanks, Cy, for your cheery reply and maybe more label information to

come.

I'm not doing well with my diet. I haven't checked my glucose for days

and

days.

I've been paying more attention to this list because I need your ideas

and

good examples so much. Personally, I seem to latch on to practical

examples

of the way everyone eats and exercises. All of the articles discourage

me

because many contradict one another and they say I must do more and give

up

more than I ever could so they make me feel like giving up entirely.

If I were really giving up, I wouldn't still be here. I admire all of

you

for your determination and sharing.

Always With Love,

Lissi

Amen, cy. Counting carbs is realy essential. Lissie, I thought I had sent

you a list of comman foods with the amont of carbs in them. I can send it

again. It originally came from Dean on our list. I have also discovered

another web site : calorieking.com, which tells you how many carabs are in

the different foods found at many restaurants.
