Annie, I am so sorry that you are feeling bad. I can understand how that would make you feel and now that you have overeaten I know that makes you feel even worse but tomorrow is a new day. Just let today go and don't think of it anymore. Start fresh tomorrow. Don't even think of today. I will be praying for you. KathyAnn Hannah wrote: Hi all,I'm new to TW, been on the email list about a week now, am buying the

book this week and will work through it. I had an emotional set back today. My husband and I trying to get pregnant. We have male factor infertility so have to use a specialist. Anyway, he's never mentioned my weight before. We got pregnant in Feb. and lost the baby early April. We went in today to discuss our next steps as my body seems to have gotten back to normal as far as my cycles go. We let him know that we are taking a cruise in early July so were thinking of waiting until after that for the next try to get pregnant. He agrees and then say "Plus that will give you time to lose some of that weight. I'd like to see you lose 50 pounds." It felt like a slap in the face. He never mentioned my weight as an issue before, and we've been seeing him since January. When I miscarried I asked him if my weight was a factor and he said no. And I can't lose 50 pounds by July! This conversation made me feel so ashamed, like I should have "FAT LOSER" stamped on my head. Like

I shouldn't even be a mom. And of course it made me want to 1) go out and eat everything in sight tonight and 2) go on the most drastic diet I could find to lose 50 pounds by July. I went out and overate. I feel overwhelmed.Annie

The doctor may not realize it, but what he said was idiotic. Even in

the old " diet mentality " they often tell you not to lose more than 1-2

pounds a week. It's dangerous.

You have my empathy and support!

RUN, do not walk to FIND A NEW DOCTOR! I speak

from experience. I had not one but two doctors

over the years who made EVERYTHING about my weight -

one guy was so bad that if I had walked in with

a bullet wound he would have said, " Well, you

do know you got shot because of your weight, right? "

Life's too short to put up with morons and you

both NEED and DESERVE a doctor who is an

advocate for you and your health. It took me

many years to find a good doctor and when I finally

found one he is not just good but GREAT. Very

realistic about being healthy and staying fit

no matter what size you are at the time.

Yes, the doc was probably well-meaning, and yes

there may/may not be a connection between fertility

and weight, but NO you do not have to accept a

relationship with a doctor who makes you feel

this bad! I can't tell you how many doctor's

appointments I've left in my life wanting to do

exactly what YOU did - go eat everything in sight.

But now, when I leave my doctor, I want to go get

a salad and work out because that's why this mean,

lean fighting machine is capable of doing! THAT's

how my doc makes me feel and that is night and

day difference from what you experienced and what

I've experienced before. Go seek that for your-

self - it's priceless and you deserve it!

I laughed out of my chair on this comment!!!!

Too funny.

You were seeing this doctor to get pregnant? Sounds like hes an

aspiring internist or general practitioner. Im with " gym " . Tell him

his business is with your resproductive system and thats it ON THE

WAY out of the door.

Its been the most critical part of my recovery from my eating

disorder to get the guts to CALL MY BOUNDARIES with people.

No, I do NOT want to know about YOUR food plan.

ARGGGGGGGGGGGG!
