Guest guest
YEAH TEAM!! We have liver transplant!! Baby has (get this) an "unspecified virus" and needs a new liver. Mom - Hayley (the former alcoholic) ((Forgot to tell you yesterday "Hayley" in real life is Ripa the new woman who co-stars on Live with Regis and replacing Kathy Lee. Which means we may even have more people watching this soap then before.)) Any way back to the show...Mom Hayley says (gotta love this) "Where do we get a liver?" (Clearly she understands it's not something Wal Mart carries on isle 10.) Dr. Jake (good guy) says "We could list him and wait for a new liver - but that could take too long a time." Enter (stage right) new woman doc in town (bit part - probably won't stay in Pine Valley longer then transplant) "Some people are doing LIVING DONOR TRANSPLANTS!!!! So Hayley & Mateo go off to lab to check blood types. Dr. Jake says "Sorry your not a match. Hayley is Type A - Mateo is Type B - baby is O!!! (I know you old soapers are wondering if baby is really Mateo's - of course he is!) Any way they are calling in all the family members to see if one of them is a match. I know you men are wondering --- why is Barb telling us all this soap opera stuff? Who cares! But this is GREAT PR for us. Every time ANY TV show has a transplant and does a good job with it - we all benefit from it. It might mean one more liver and one more life saved. Given that Regis and have a large following - most people that watch know does both shows. They no doubt have discussed All My Children on Regis so we get PR on two shows. All My Children comes on at noon central time. I'll keep you posted - know your waiting with baited breath.........
