I'm not Annie but I'll try to explain. Atkins Bars contain glycerin (sp?) which does not have to be included in carb counts because it does not act like a carb in most people...so they say...I've heard of a lot of people whose bodies metabolize glycerin like a carb, therefore the carb count on the bars needs to be figured out manually.

Pamela,

Induction is pretty laid out what you can have.....here is a good

link.......http://www.titanic.kn-bremen.de/induction.html

A common misconception is that this is a low/no carb diet, more to the

extreme than it is......while some people cannot lose eating more than 20

carbs per day, or have food intolerances that will cause them to stall, many

have no problems and their critical carb level is very high........mine is

somewhere between 60-100 depending on how much of my intolerant food I

eat....(I have a problem with heavy cream and if I eat it every day it

stalls me bad, but I can have it a couple times a week with no problem)

I actually eat quite a bit, after induction, you don't lose quickly, but

steadily (I lose a couple of pounds a month, sometimes more, but I lost ALOT

the first 2 weeks).......this is a way of life, a total change in the old

way of thinking, and like any diet (man, I hate to call it a diet) once you

go off plan, you will gain the weight back.

This wol, gives you a very enormous choices, recipe variations, health

benifits, energy, (I could go on and on)......that is why it is so easy to

live with for a lifetime...You don't feel deprived....

It takes some getting used to, and at first seems pretty overwelming, but

that is why we are here, to help you learn.......it does become second

nature after a while, and I really don't think about what I eat anymore, or

have to count carbs, I just know.......and it is a habit.......

Even my family auto gets me low carb!! LOL.......when ordering or picking up

take out!!

They like my LC recipes so much they ask for them, and DH recently told me,

he didn't care if that was all we had, he didn't need potatos either!!

ALAS!!

You hang in there and learn all you can, this is a great group with alot of

knowledgable folks who will love to help all the new people out, learning,

giving hints, recipes ect........

The main thing I can tell you, is stay close to your support group! I would

never have made it thru induction, let alone stick with it somedays without

my groups! I have been with this group since day 1, they are super!!

Duh??? I didn't answer your questions?? Hello? Is it friday yet??

Mostly the hidden carbs are in sweet things, or things for

goodies/cream....example so not to worry......

You need to eat the veggies!! These are very very important for your health!

Get your carbs from veggies first! 2-3 cups of salad a day and a green bean,

or brocolli ect. at supper time!

Unprocessed meat has no carbs! YEH!!

Liquid splenda has no carbs! YEH!!

Also, make sure you are taking vitamins!!
