Guest guest
I posted a disturbing story on my Yana site yesterday – it can be found at http://www.yananow.net/Mentors/DennisD.htm - which tells a very angry tale of what seems like some very ordinary treatment. If anyone has any suggestions as to how Dennis can get something better than that which has been offered to him so far, perhaps you could mail him directly. He is not on this List, so there is no point in posting anything here. All the best Terry Herbert I have no medical qualifications but I was diagnosed in ‘96: and have learned a bit since then. My sites are at www.yananow.net and www.prostatecancerwatchfulwaiting.co.za Dr “Snuffy” Myers : " As a physician, I am painfully aware that most of the decisions we make with regard to prostate cancer are made with inadequate data "
Guest guest
I'm not a man but my father was treated at a VA hospital back in 81. That is, he was treated after my 3rd attempt at bringing him in because he couldn't walk and I refused to take him home again in his underwear since he was brought in by ambulance. Come to find out he had cancer in his spine which they said started in his lung, he died there at the age of 61. I'm sorry, but you men deserve better than the treatment they give, I could hear my father screaming down the hallway and he was a tough man who fought in the trenches in Japan and came down with malaria not to mention having his appendix out while over there. I wouldn't bring my dog there. I get very angry when I hear these things are still going on. Gail Subject: Re: Help with VA?To: ProstateCancerSupport Date: Thursday, August 7, 2008, 2:19 PM It would be interesting to see responses from other men who have beentreated at VA facilities.A fellow in our local support group had DaVinci robotic surgery done atthis spring at a VA hospital in San Francisco. He apparently came closeto dying from blood loss that the doctors said 'may have been' due tonot fully cauterizing blood vessels in their attempt at 'nerve sparing'.Other than saying 'the operation was a success but the patient almostdied', the VA doctors apparently have not provided an adequateexplanation for the internal bleeding. He has not commented on how muchactual prior experience with robotic surgery the VA surgeons had- he maynot know. So far he feels he is recovering well from initialincontenance. To early to tell what the results will be with respect toED and cancer control.Jon>> I posted a disturbing story on my Yana site yesterday - it can befound at> http://www.yananow. net/Mentors/ DennisD.htm - which tells a very angrytale> of what seems like some very ordinary treatment.
