Guest guest
Thanks Abigail! I wonder what it is that makes us fall so easily? Perhaps we merely need to affirm - daily - that this is really what we know to be the best way for us...and that we willingly walk this road to health. I have often to wrestle the deprivation demon, but it was Terry who once said that we have to make up our minds as to how much more we want to be slim and healthy than eating that forbidden food....well, not in those words...but the same idea. I have a severe allergy (and no doubt, addiction) to wine and carbs and constantly have to fight the lure...and I know it's all in the mind. How about we make up our own little motivational mantras pertaining to our own personal struggles? The more we tell our brains how successful we are, the more it will toe the line!! One day at a time. Perhaps it sounds absurd in the beginning to say how gorgeous we are - how slim, fit and healthy - dedicated and determined to boot! - but how we will know if we don't at least try....so - let's agree to wake up in the morning and look in that mirror with love and caring and act accordingly...how about it? I need it as much as anyone!...........) We CAN do this!! Love Marloe
Guest guest
Marloe, you said all. We CAN do this. Just remember one minute on the lip forever on the hip. Those forbidden foods only taste good for a second and we feel miserable for days when we eat them. It in not worth the grief we go thru. Guest guest
I'm not so sure why it is that difficult to say no to things we don't really want or need (actually, we may want them but that want is just to temporarily fill a craving that won't really satisfy). A person in the business I'm in said that we go through stages when we are learing something 1 -- awkward 2 -- mechanical 3 -- natural I guess we are all striving to get to the natural stage. For each person that may be a different length of time. Another quote that I like is " It's not that the nature of what you do will become easier, it's that your ability to do it will become greater " . I hope that my ability to do this way of eating will become greater in the near future Abigail > Thanks Abigail! I wonder what it is that makes us fall so easily?
