Do you think the 12 power foods are really as wonderful as they sound? Do you think they can do what it is claimed they can do? I would love to have access to fresh berries. I do believe that most nuts are packed with nutrition. A few go a long

Spinach is the *G. O. D.* of green leafy vegetables. So much is packed

into so little volume it's scary. It's also delicious. :) I love veggies

period. And now I don't have to discriminate based on carb content or

glycemic index. I go just for taste.

I don't agree w/ the low or fat-free part of it all, but I love me some

dairy and I eat a ton of it every day. Yogurt can be especially good for

ppl w/ GI issues or women who are prone to yeast infections - just get

the kind w/ active cultures/live bacteria in it.

I think the instant kind is rather puny compared to the old-fashioned

kind and I like my oatmeal/oats to have bulk. Great fiber, great taste,

great for lowering cholesterol and scrubbing out the colon.

yay for eggs! They don't make a dish w/ eggs that I don't love. Wish I

could afford the free-range kind, but I'm sitting pretty in the middle

w/ the 'normal' eggs and I'd never touch an eggbeater.

Love all meats - lean or not. There's more flavor in the 'not' but I'm

on the list for a 1/2 a pasture-fed cow so we'll see how that tastes.

For some reason, probably a carry-over from nursing and from Atkins, I

don't feel it's truly a meal w/o meat. :)

Yummy! All natural, oil-on-top, crunchy. Or cashew butter, or almond

butter. YUMMY! So delicious, so nutritious.

Find the good kind, cold-pressed, etc and you've got a winner. There are

so many kinds for different uses. Did you know that some people have

olive oil tastings!? That's how complex it can be. It's not just for

cooking anymore.

If it's tasty, airy, etc. I love a nice, fresh, yeasty bread fresh from

the oven. I'm also partial to non 'whole-grain' breads like sourdough,

etc. I don't discriminate w/ my flour or bread or cereal anymore - I buy

based on taste, texture, purpose, etc.

I used to buy this stuff, still have some in fact in my pantry. Maybe if

I was working out or 'dieting' I might use it, but I'm not a smoothie

lover normally, so I don't foresee using that stuff again. In a pinch

I'd rather have a piece of cheese for a snack.

OMG. Raspberries are the bomb for fiber. Something like 8 grams per 1/2

cup. It's insane! And they taste phenomenal! And don't get me started on

Strawberries! O. M. G. !!!

There is a LOT of 'nutrition' to be had in the foods above, a lot of

health benefits - BUT since finding IE I won't eat *anything* just

because of a label attached to it - healthy, whole-grain, high-fiber,

low-whatever. I want high taste and I want the best. I've become a right

food snob. I want what I've termed a 'mouth orgasm' when I eat and if

I'm eating some of these power foods and I'm getting superior nutrition

in my body - great, all the better. But, that's not what I'm after. I

want my favorite foods on my plate and in my mouth and in my tummy. What

they do after I eat them is between them and my bod. I try not to

interfere anymore. :)
