Hi MM,

Well life

is slowly getting back to normal...if there is such a thing as normal.

My winter

stuf got put away after Christmas since I was gonna be in chicago i didn't

want to leave it out for the kitties to play with.

All is

well in the Ellington household for the moment. We've started a new

9 weeks at school so I have become Mega Witch Mom.

has been giving me

a million excuses as to why his grades are not up to par.......so today

I lowered the boom. Told him no more running or practices or anything

till the grades come up to A's and B's again. I have tried everything

under the sun. Short of banning him to his room for life this is

the best thing I can do to get his attention.

I hate

to use the running as it is an outlet for him....but darn it, when I say

bring home the homework and books.... i ain't foolin around!

Chris

is up for a dayshift position, and this will help so much with him being

home.

As for

the sex conversations, I can totally relate! I always thought the

boys would go to their Dads for this stuff......but Noooooo I get the priveledge.

But you are right, if he is talking to you then you are still in the loop!

I plan to always be in the loop! Doesn

t mean it will happen!

We are

getting lots of snow and cold here. I'm ready for spring!

I heard

about your crab delight! I was soooo jealous! I love crab!

Well I'm off to bed....it's

cold and I need to snuggle to get warm.

Talk to you tomorrow!

Love, Becky

Hiya, Becks, So glad you are better

and back on your feet. Welcome back,

honey.

How is your family, and have you recovered from the holidays, too?

I am

still putting

things away, but the creche and winter village are still up in

the living

room. I feel

like I'm striking the set after a long run of a favorite play or

something.

Hard for me

to do. Looks pretty silly, though, for it to still be up

at Easter. LOL As

it is, I don't

take the outside lights down from year to year. I just replace

them every

three or

four years depending on how faded out they look.

How is that son of yours? My teenager came to me on Sunday

and told me all

about his first "makeout" session. I was surprised he told

me, but he is

kind of confiding,

and that's good to my way of thinking, so I know what he's been

up to. We

had a long

talk about responsible behavior, plain talk about sex and what

making out

leads to,

and all that. I hope some of it sunk in. I had to spoil

his happiness by

reminding him

that any accusations flung around by angry girlfriends who are

under 18 could

back-

fire and get him in trouble again, like those false accusations

from his

niece. I'm not

sure he understands what I was trying to tell him, but I guess

I'll just have

to be the

Queen of Mean and keep reinforcing the message for his own protection.

Too

bad a

kid can't go through his young life without that taint against

him. It just

makes me

sick to have his foster sister spoil his life this way. Everything

he does

socially is

touched by it.

Well, on to more pleasant subjects...I went to a crab feed on Friday

night,

and stuffed

myself with fresh Dungeness Crab. They served salad, bread,

and dessert with

it, but

I only had a little salad, and ate two whole big crabs! Oooooh,

was it good!

That will

have to do me for another year, as it is so expensive at these

fundraising

events, and

getting it right off the boat requires that you have a boiling

pot ready on

the spot.

When I was taking the boys all over the coast on day hikes and

such, we took

the camp

cook kit with us just so we could cook fresh crabs, mussels, and

clams, and

etc., but

the way I don't get around so good anymore, we don't do that so

much. Miss

it.

Well, gotta go and get started on housework. I go as long

as I can, then lie

down and

rest and watch Mason reruns. Love that show.

You take care, Loving

hugs, MM

Glad you had a good time at the crab feast! Your post about taking

the boys to the beach and eating the shellfish reminded me of

something that happened on Sunday. My best friend and her

family spent the day with us here. Her daughter is 5, and my son is

4. They came rushing into the livingroom to tell us they needed to

go to see " the beach " and the " choo-choo twains " . Well, they meant

Galveston with the Texas Railroad Museum and of course THE beach

LOL. I guess If I am now officially taking steps to leave my job, I

will be able to rest more and have more energy for an outing such as

that. What made those two think of Galveston or even remember it,

I'll never know. It's about a three hour drive to there from where I

live, and it's been several months since we went. Oh well, just

another one of those " things " to put on my to-do list.

Hope you are doing ok despite the cold. We are expecting teens or

low twenties tonight here, depending on which weather you watch.

Pretty cold for my part of Texas.

Take Care!

Becks, The other thing I do when the itch becomes unbearable, is switch to

lukewarm

showers, and use a mild oil soap. When it is just beyond the pale, a

cornstarch bath

may help. My mother used to give them to me when the mosquitoes got so bad in

summer. I've always been allergic to them, and one bite gives me the worst

hives.

After the cornstarch bath, she would use warm mineral oil on my skin. It

did seem

to help, too. Love, MM

MM,

I gotta

tell you the SARNA really has worked and my rash is slowly clearing!

I have my MIL send me it from Louisiana.

No one up here carries it.

If you ask for it they look at you weird like and say what is that?

Anyway

warm water makes it itch REALLY bad!

As for the pain,.....no one

knows what it is.....pretty sad!

Hiya Becks. I'm so sorry you have

this new "thingy". I have that in my feet

and legs

every night. Makes it hard to settle to sleep and stay asleep.

One of my

docs says it

is related to my diabetes, but I am non-insulin dependent, and

I don't think

that is it.

My rheumy says it is related to the Lupus, Fibromyalgia, and Arthritis

problems that

I have, and that is more like what I feel about it, myself.

I was taking

Neurontin, but

I reacted very badly to that med, and had to stop it. I just

massage my skin

where it

hurts, gently, and while I have a little relief, I try to go to

sleep. If I

soak in warm,

herbal baths before bed, that sometimes helps, too. However,

I have a lot of

trouble

getting in and out of the tub. If I am ever rich, I think

my first

investment after buying a house, would be to install a step-down

tub with

water massage and easy

access. I used to clean rich people's houses, and one of

them has mink rugs

in the

bathroom, a Roman style tub, and was just perfect. When the

owners were

away, I

used to treat myself to a long bath in that tub. Yummy!

LOL Good luck with

the

pain in your skin. Is the SARNA lotion helping at all?

Maybe, an OTC cream

with an

anasthetic component? Loving hugs, MM
