I thought you said you didn't have retained fetal products??? Look what I found when I searched for the ERPC. I have cut and copied the article. It is interesting too.

Miscarriage Trial (MIST) Economic Evaluation , Westlake Surgery, Yeovil, Somerset, Johanna Trinder, Southmead Hospital, Bristol on behalf of the MIST Steering Committee, with protocol development, data entry programs and interim analyses provided by Brocklehurst, Ayers and Hazel Ashurst. Economic evaluation being conducted by Stavros Petrou

At least 20 per cent of confirmed pregnancies end in spontaneous miscarriage. The standard treatment for miscarriage in the UK is evacuation of retained products of conception (ERPC). ERPC is usually performed under general anaesthetic and it is assumed that removal of retained products decreases the incidence of bleeding and intrauterine infection. Other methods of management are available including medical management which involves the use of drugs to ensure complete emptying of the uterine cavity and conservative management when the woman is left to spontaneously miscarry without any intervention. This trial is comparing these three management options with the primary outcome being the incidence of gynaecological infection. Recruitment is ongoing and due to be complete by the end of 2000. Data relating to clinical effectiveness of each management method will be analysed together with cost evidence to explore issues of relative cost-effectiveness of different approaches to care.

Does anyone think we should contact these people and tell them the results of ERPC?? I found this article in: http://www.npeu.ox.ac.uk/economic/info.htmlbut you have to scroll down more than half way to find it. It has the email address of the economist who is doing this research. Shall we contact them?
