Guest guest
First, thanks to Poly for keeping track of my appointment. I did finally see the RE who looked at my case and said he had no doubt whatsoever that I have AS. My operative HS + laproscopy is scheduled for mid-March ... currently 3/19, though I'm trying to get them to find an earlier date, since 3/19 would cause us to cancel YET ANOTHER planned vacation. He also plans to try a diagnostic HS on 3/7, just to see what he'll have to contend with and to determine whether he wants ultrasound guidance during the main procedure, but he is skeptical that he'll be able to get the scope into my uterus at all. I'M TERRIFIED. I'm glad that we're finally underway, but am scared out of my wits. Scared of the procedures themselves. Scared of what they'll find. Scared of failure. And scared all of this will continue forever. My RE did say that he'll generally only operate a max of 2 times. That the first time is my best shot. Is this true? Have other doctors said things like this? Also, he said that since I don't have a period (a spot or two only), he doesn't feel the need to do the procedure at any particular point in my cycle. This worries me a little. Anyone with advice? HELP. It's so overwhelming. How do you guys get through it all? Kim > Kim, > You were going to have your initial appointment with your doctor today. Guest guest
I'm worried for you too! First of all, I never bleed either when going in for my 1st three hyster. but i knew where i was at in my cycles from temp. charting. My Dr. felt that the time of the cycle was CRUCIAL TO the surgeries success. They should go in between CD 7 and ovulation. My Dr. said this is when your lining is at its thinnest(if there is any) and visibility is best. He says that after ovulation it gets quite spongy and hard to see the tissue that needs to be cut. Also, it was unfair of him(in my opinion) to say that 2 times was all that he'd try. That gives you even more stress and makes it seem like he's not willing to devote time to fixing this for you. My Dr. NEVER gave me a limit. In fact he said we'd plug away little by little until it was all clear(can you tell, I like him!). The 1st Sx is important for repairing the major damage(in my severe case) and then the next surgeries, if needed, are for more " detailed and precise " repair. Also, my Dr. felt it was a waste of time and cervical dilation to do a diagnostic hyster. He knew from the HSG that it would be bad, planned on using the US during the procedure, and just went in and began the tedious process! It is scary...but not extremely painful. I think the fear is waking up and having to hear any bad news. Hopefully you'll wake up to good news. Sorry to make you worry about your Dr. But I am being honest and feel he is being negative with you right off the bat. cheryl >From: ivy@... >Reply-To: Ashermans >To: Ashermans >Subject: Re: Kim Katz - Your appointment >Date: Fri, 23 Feb 2001 13:35:35 -0000 >I did finally see the RE who looked at my case and said he had no >doubt whatsoever that I have AS.
