Guest guest
I would LOVE to have a DR. that is willing to answer questions for us; especially for newer members and anyone going through treatment. However, I do have concerns about people feeling free to express themselves, including complaints about dr.s, on this board. Even my RE was very defensive of my OB/GYN when I told him that I would be switching Dr.'s (i.e., not to send my records back to my old GYN). I think he felt the need to tell me about things from the dr.'s perspective. Even if none of us is being treated by the RE answering questions, I think it would be strange to have a doc have access to our thoughts on this board. Why not start a new e-group - maybe call it Ashermans_RE or something similar, and use that board to post questions and answers to/from the RE. I also think it would be helpful to have more than one RE (if we can more than one that is willing to post). I realize that everyone would have to join yet another group (Ashermans_RE) for this to work, but Poly, perhaps you can pass on the responsibility of this new board to one or two of the other members. If starting a new board is not agreeable, how about having someone be responsible for sending questions and responses to/from the RE(s). This person could also filter out any 'repeated' questions and keep a Q & A file somewhere - so when someone new comes along and asks a question, that person can either forward the question to the RE or refer them to the Q & A document. It might be a good idea to do this, even if we have a separate board for the RE questions...more work, I know. But, I think with all of the legal issues going around, too, it might not be a good idea to give access to any doctor....you never know who someone's golfing buddy is or who knows who... Just my 2 cents,
