Guest guest
I tried to call this morning and he must have been at dialysis. I wil call now. Friend Wayne Hi all, Well folks, it is time to circle the wagons again and give Wayne a little support. He has had a tough day. The Dialysis group insisted that he go down to Dialysis in a wheel chair and not on his bed. They wanted him to transfer from the wheelchair to their chair and it was tough. The chair they use for Dialysis does not fit him well and it puts pressure and rubs on the surgery site causing considerable pain. His doctor was present and told the Dialysis folks never to do that again. Anyway, Pat and Rita in particular, could you give him a call? I know he would appreciate it. Somehow the soothing voice of a sweet, tender female is much more comforting than a growly old man. Cy, the Ancient Okie...

Guest guest
you know everything we do so you could perfectly educate folks on carb counting. yes, what wayne is eating, he has told me too, is what most hospitals feed diabetics. it is disgusting. Regards, Friend Wayne Hi folks, Talked to Wayne this afternoon and he sounded fairly well. Well, actually he sounded really great considering that today was another Dialysis time. His sense of humor was quite keen and he wishes all on the list well. He is already planning what he is going to cook when he gets out of his current confinement. (smile) He is developing an enormous desire for some lasagna - with lots of yummy cheese and even more yummy cheese. Cy, the ancient Okie... Guest guest
man those sound great! BTW ribs can cause the pizza effect so if you eat ribs, that is fine, dont' eat any carbs with them like french fries, potatos, etc. since the ribs will slow down the absorbtion of the carbs from the fat in them... Regards, Friend Wayne Well, Wayne sounded pretty good this evening. His spirits were up and all was well in hisWorld. He wishes all well and sayd he will be cack! I told him that I did him a favor today, I went to the local BBQ joint and ate some smoked ribs - for Waybne.. I knew he would appreciate it. (large smile and burp) Don't worry , they were not laden with sauce, they were slow cooked over Hickory wood smoke and, man, were they good. Cy, the Ancient Okie... Guest guest
A wound vacuum is basically a small tube that is placed in the wound and attached to a very weak pump. It helps drain the nasty stuff out of a would so it will heal better. Is that what Wayne has? I will call him this morning as I am iin for a change. Thanks for the number.(P.S.) the bottle the tube is attached to is a vacuum, so it " sucks " at any drainage that comes out of the wound.) Friend Wayne Hi All, Just talked to Wayne and he is not moving tomorrow. They took another urine sample today and he must be clear for a week and then they require another week after he is declared infection free before they can move him. They are using a " wound vac " on him to help clear up the last surgery site on his hind quarters. I did not quite understand what a " wound vac " is and still don't after Wayne tried to explain it to me. Perhaps Pat could shed a little light on this subject? Wayne is in good spirits and is pretty resigned to the additional wait. Just keep him in your prayers and give him a call if you can, he seems to really appreciate the contact.
