Guest guest
Hi Allie, I too binged on that stupid Weight Watchers food! I have been doing IE since I started reading the book I guess about 2 weeks. I went to the doctor yesterday and I weighed in 5 pounds less. I was really surprised by that and believed that it has more to do with not stressing about food anymore. Unfortunately, for me I am stressing about other things that I need to deal with in my life but I will share that later. > > I have done many diets but I have been on wieght watchers for years. I lost 80 pounds with it and gained about 1/2 back. This last stint I had with weight watchers I said that I am mgoing to lose this weight and be focused like before but it was just a struggle for me to stick to the program. I also ended up bingeing on foods that I said that were not good. I even binged on WW foods--it was crazy. The weigh-in was also so horrible for me. I was so sick of going, in and having someone tell me yeah you lost .2, you should relally feel good about yourself and then if I gained .2 or don't worry about it it's nothing. I really started getting tirred of wi and of the meetings and trying to get down to a certain number. YOu know that I was happy at the size I got down to but according to the ww scale I had to lose another 15 pounds and I could not do it as hard as I tried--and I really did-to the point of injurying myself through exercise. I finally got discouraged and >>

Guest guest
WOW Allie...I can totally relate to your WW experience. WW is really the only diet I ever had any success at. I lost 80 some pounds several years ago going from 274 pounds down to around 190. According to WW I still had 40 pounds to lose and looking back I would LOVE to be 190 again! I looked so great and felt really good. But instead of being happy with all I had lost I focused on the 40 pounds I still had to lose. I quit WW and tried to do it on my own...basically I was sick of the weigh ins, counting points etc after several years of following the program. I have probably gained back 30-40 of those pounds since then and have gone back to WW with little success. IE has been so peaceful for me. It's so less stressful than WW and really makes me feel good about myself. I am really trying to accept my body as it is right now. I don't think I will ever be considered "skinny" but I want to be fit and healthy. Thanks for sharing your story! Ask a question on any topic and get answers from real people. Go to Yahoo! Answers. Guest guest
I actually worked for WW up until about a month ago. After 20 years with them, they actually let me go (long story). In any event, I loved being in a position to help so many people, but after a while I became disillusioned with the whole philosophy, but I stayed for the sake of the members who depended upon me. As a person with an eating problem I felt that I became more obsessed with food and eating as a result of the program. Many people do succeed in losing on the program and they do teach many behavioral skills that help, but the fact is that the majority of people who do the program, either quit or gain their weight back. I did lose 30 pounds with them, but I kept it off not because I continued to " diet, " but because I dealt with the behaviors and the reasons I was overeating to begin with. You are so right that IE is less stressful. Now, if only I could stop obsessing about my weight! J. > > IE has been so peaceful for me.
