I am so glad to hear things are going so well-when folks such as yourself are

willing to share experiences it gives me courage to consider more options in

resolving my back issues.

I am positive your follow up will be great! Things sound like they are going

right on schedule...

diaane, and all of yu out there. follow up appt turned out to be with nurse

practioner who's sole function as i can figure out, was to make sure i am

not infected and to remove bandage and examine wound. otherwise she wasnt

worth shit. but i decided to make my own follow up appt with dr K myself for a

week from this coming friday. so i will make a list of my questions then and

he will answer them. he is pretty good about that. i told him it was a

great surgery when he called me today. it was. so far i am feeling a little

bit

more hopeful, a little bit better every day. no pain in leg. and i am

getting stronger. but nowhere ready to go back to work. nope.

jeez, carlene, i always laugh out loud when you send the angels. greatly

appreciated. i think when all this dies down, you and i will get together. we

need to do that.

marsha,

thanks for the news. but jeez, he could have at least come in and looked at it

and talked to you in person. good for you for making an appt. we just all have

to take control of the choices made for our bodies. i still shudder to think of

being a walking stick woman if i had let local, NY, CA surgeons do all of the

fusion they wanted to on my back and neck. so glad my family doctor helped me

see through the fog of fear and make some logical decisions.

keep on keeping on lady! an angel just kissed you on the cheek ;o)

Sounds a bit frustrating-but at the same time it sounds like your Dr is a good

communicator- I am delighted you have no leg pain! YEAH! I can't imagine going

back to work anytime soon-

It is an auto immune disease also. It is my body attacking my thyroid so I have

to take medicine for that. It effects your brain, skin bones and more, but I

have worked hard to take care of that now have to take care of getting the right

med. for my RA.

Hi Marsha,

What is Hashimoto's disease ?

I think I've heard of it, but don't know what it is.

It doesn't sound very nice.

Hi,

It doen't sound nice. I suppose it is more complicated than thyroid

desease.

I have an under active thyroid, I have to take thyroxine. It makes one

wonder if the thyroid is a common problem for arthritis sufferers!

Keep your chin up,

Sue
