Guest guest
Hi Kathy. I just finished by second IUI. First with Clomid and Repronex and the secomd with Clomid and Pergonal. My RE said the injectable drugs also help build up your lining and after the numerous ultrasounds my lining is perfect so I don't know if it's the drugs or not. Plus, my RE tries not to produce more than 2 eggs for IUI so the chance of multiples isn't so high. My RE OK'd the drugs because I'm 33 and he says it's best to get pregnant wihtin the 4-6 months after surgery before any scarring may return. Hope this helps..... Guest guest
So kelly, are you scar free? Just wondering as I may start ;fertility shots in a few weeks. Wondering why us with AS still have a hard time getting pg after our surgeries. Esp. if your lining is good. Don't know if IUI goes along with the injectible hormones or if you're allowed to try on your own? I heard clomid interferes with lining formation but injectibles helps. cheryl

Guest guest
Cheryl. My RE said my uterus was scar free for now however it may rescar in 4-6 months. Never ends! I did my IUI was injectibles and he did inseminate me both times then told us we could also try on our own after. He feels it's better to inseminate after doing all the drugs, money and time invested...why not give the sperm the best shot by washing them and putting them right where they should be. I did have my FSH levels checked for my egg quality and they came back a bit higher than normal of under 10, 12.9, than before so he thinks my egg supply isn't a high as it once was so that may be anothr reason for not getting pregnant so quickly like we used too. I was scared I may be hitting ealry menopause so he's watching my levels closely and thinks I have a few more good years till another egg drop at 35, just 2 years away...lucky me! Anyway, the fertility shots are not a big deal. First cycle is the hardest when they are determining the correct doasge and you're getting used to the shots. Second time is a breeze! If we don't get pregnant with another cycle and a rest cycle then we'll move onto IVF. No idea why some of us have such a hard time...maybe it because our bodies keep getting put threw so mucah. My doctor did the Clomid to help develope a good quality egg and then the injectables to help with the lining and produce more than one egg. Clomid on it's own I was told does effect the lining however they are benefits to using it with injectables if needed. I'm glad I was given the drugs so I can increase my chances of a pregnancy, like having two months of trying in one.

Guest guest
Kathy, You asked how many are/or will be using fertility drugs to try and concive. We will most likely be doing IVF hear in a few months if my lining is resonable. But we had other infertility issues(poor sperm motility) before ashermans for many years. We have been married 15 years and I am 38 and my husband is 42. It does seem that alot of us had other infertility issues before ashermans.
