I have VERY thin, white skin and can't stand to look at them! They are HUGE ugly veins! But 4 days ago, I had an incident. The night before, I had taken one half of an Anbiem (newly prescribed) to help sleep instead of the usual clonazepam (one 2 mg at night) . Woke up with a bad tongue bite... The next morning, I started being all up tight.....sweating, heart beating, like I had taken 20 caffeine pills! HYPER.....almost like withdrawal! My hands and feed went numb until I had a beer at 5 PM. Could a person go through withdrawal after not taking a 2 mg pill once a day? Anyone that can describe withdrawal? The pharmacist didn't think so....I could not sleep most of the night on the Ambien..... Probably will never know what went on! Switched back to clon. Also, does anyone have any reactions to caffeine? I don't drink coffee. I got the brilliant idea to start drinking colas and Mtn Dew for energy, and suddenly I started getting SO jittery, and a horrible migraine.... Thanks in advance for any theories! I never want to go through that numbness thing again... Pris ************************************** See what's free at http://www.aol.com. Guest guest
OMG, I'm scared for you!!!! I have never heard of such a thing, or Prednisone causing a clot. You can't go to the ER. If you feel your getting worse, please go to the ER. I'm praying for you, Tawny

Guest guest
I would give your rheumatologist another call tomorrow so he can weigh in on this. Sorry. I can understand why you were frightened. Guest guest
Wow, I have taken prednisone for awhile and never had an experience like that. So what are you supposed to do now? Does it still burn? Hope it gets back to normal soon. Joy missiep78 <missiep78@...> wrote: I was having a great day today. I had tons of energy, so I took full advantage of it. I was just putting her activity center away, when suddenly my foot started burning. I took off my sandel and looked at it. My vein on the top of my foot was BULGING and it looked like it was going to burst. I freaked out. I thought it was a blood clot and that I was going to die at any second. I hobbled upstairs and called my Rheumy. They were no help, as he wasn't there. They told me to call my PCP. They were closing in 30m, but told me to come in. The whole way to the Dr. I was freaking out. My job ended on Friday, and my company didn't receive my COBRA letter that I sent them 2 days ago...so no insurance today! My Dr. told me that it was most likely a clot, but not the kind that can come loose and kill me, like I thought. Apparently this is quite common w/ Prednisone. Nice! They will try to get out of it any way they can. I got a letter today from COBRA saying they did not receive the $180.01 payment for the rest of May (they raised the rates on May 1, but didn't notify me until the 25th). They said they got the copy of the letter I sent with it, but no check and I must have the check in by June 18. I know it was in there with the letter because I paid the bills sitting on my bed that day and nothing was left over. She admitted they probably lost it. So I have to go tomorrow to overnight another check to them and then pay to stop payment on the first payment. They will do ANYTHING to cancel COBRA insurance. > > >My Dr. told me that it was most likely a clot, but not the kind that > can come loose and kill > me, like I thought. Guest guest
Thanks, I'm better today, but still waiting for my vein/blood vessel to burst. Yeah, that sounds like fun! > > OMG, I'm scared for you!!!! I have never heard of such a thing, or > Prednisone causing a clot. You can't go to the ER. Guest guest
Apparently nothing. Just wait for it to burst and go away. She said that it can be a side effect from the Prednisone. > > so what do they do with that?? been lurking for quite some time. on 10mgs > prednisone since i have been taken off mtx. still functioning quite well, > working part time and still following the band chicago!! 40th anniversary tour. i > am attending 6-30 7-23 7-24 7-25!! i am so excited!! i can still remember 4-5 > yrs ago were not very much fun for me. so sorry i haven't posted. please know > i think about you all often! > > > kathy inil > > > > ************************************** See what's free at http://www.aol.com. > > >

Woke up with a bad tongue bite... 2mg clonazepam is too much for most people to aburptly stop. You have a serious risk of seziures as well as feeling horriable in general from discontinuation symptoms. > The next morning, I started being all up tight.....sweating, heart beating, > like I had taken 20 caffeine pills! The pharmacist is a idiot. Ambien is going to be something like 1/32 as potent as the dose of clonazepam you were on. > Probably will never know what went on!
