OK, my Doc has relocated and I see the new doc that replaced her

tomorrow. I have already called and asked if she prescribes Armour and

was told I needed to come in for blood work. What do I need to ask for

besides free T3?

Thanks

Hi Debbie - the FreeT3 and Free T4 tests measure the amount of

useable T3 and T4. Free means the T3 or T4 molecule is unbound to

other molecules that make them unable to be used by your body at the

cellular level. The free values are the ones you want. There are

two different antibodies they check for...not sure about the APO -

one is thyroid peroxidase antibodies...TPA if there is no answer here

in the AM, I will post it for you when my mind is clearer.

No food and drink except water after 8pm. And try to drink 2 8oz of water when

you get up before you go for the test.
