A partial solution to my sugar addiction--a recipe

I want to pass this along to all you who are in the same boat I am

in--sugar addicted.

I came across something at the Health food store called Energy

squares. It was obviously something that was made either by the

store, or by a supplier. And, luckily, there was a paper that gave

the ingredients. And I tasted one, and like it.

So, I bought more of the ingredients, and made my own squares with a

few changes. And not only are they healthy, they are sweet enough.

The only problem is that I have no amounts of each ingredient.

In a blender, I put the following:

pumpkin seeds

sesame seeds

sunflower seeds (all the above without shells)

Almond Butter (or you can use Peanut Butter)

Carob powder (for the chocolate taste)

Stevia

Vanilla flavoring

Coconut Oil

I added the coconut oil because I put in too many nuts and needed

the extra binding agent. BUT what a good choice since coconut oil is

SO good for thyroid and energy!!

I then formed the above into 1 " balls. The first bite is kinda

unexciting. But it grows on you!! It's high protein due to the nuts,

and no sugar.

I took 4 to work. Great snack. Had more when I got home.

HaHAAAAAAA! It grows on you!! Janie...thanks for this great

recipe! It certainly is worth a try...I always like anything that

can make me feel like I'm having a little dessert and the high

protein - well, WHO can argue with that!.
