Guest guest
Hello all, this is rather off topic but I had to share with you, my new found family. My son has never known his father, the last time we saw him Caleb was 5 mos. old. My current husband, an absolute jewel of a man, has stepped in and been a wonderful father to Caleb for the past 3 1/2 years. Today, it was made official. My husband adopted him, we went to court today. YEAH!! The judge read it into the record and then said "Let me be the first to congratulate you." I turned to Caleb and said "Nice to meet you Mr. Bishop" and shook his hand. He was so overcome that he laid his head on the table and just hid his face for a LONG time. People were getting worried about him. When he finally looked up my husband turned him around and pinned his old army name tag on Caleb's shirt. it has hubby's last name on it. (Caleb knew what it was b/c he loves to try on my husband's old army uniform and have him tell stories about being in the army) Caleb looked down, saw what it was, took a deep breath and said "I NEED A HUG" and threw himself into my husband's arms. They hugged and hugged. We almost had the judge in tears!! Caleb is 9, and he has been waiting for this day for over a year. Its a long process. Sorry this got long, but I had to share. And you know what- I hurt like hell all day, and the drive and sitting in those hard chairs waiting...but the fibro didn't win today-the JOY in my heart is MUCH louder than the pain in my body. Thank you God for your blessings and thank each of you for sharing it with me. love and joy to all ~Charity
