Guest guest
Hi, Patti, For his birthday this past year, my doctor received a copy of Shomon's book from my husband and I. For Christmas he received The Thyroid Sourcebook by M. Sara Rosenthal. I also promised him that I would hit him over the head (lightly, of course) if he didn't begin to use his own training and instincts rather than rely overly on lab numbers. He doesn't get stubborn with me very often, which is a good thing for both of us. He has told me that he is appreciative of the research I do to help in the treatment of my situation. He also knows that I am researching for others who see him so that they can help themselves, too. The doctor cannot do it all and even with the best medications in the world, there is a lot that can be done at home by the patient that will do as much good as the meds. He believes that and so do I. Guest guest
That sounds great Dianne!! My doc also has the Broda Book and he is learning slowly but surely. And you are right about the stubborness of these men/women....If they are stubborn it usually means they are prideful and their ego's don't allow us to work with them. Thank God your doc is willing and that you can work with him and that he isn't stubborn!! . I am thankful for a doc like that too. He is still only at the point of allowing all of my blood work and tests to be run by him so my insurance pays for it..yet my thyroid doc looks at all of the tests...if not I'd be paying out of pocket. So I am thrilled for that much. My doc is learning slowly...but learning...I can only continue to pray for the best. I wish we had a magic potion of some kind to give all of the medical profession that would just make em listen and do the right thing. Both of my docs know that I advocate, research, and am actively searching, reaching out to, and for people to get them healthy. They both are very encouraging in that area too. Usually when a doc knows that you are informed he will listen. Not always but most of the time. It happened in my case. I hope that it is an encouragement to the ladies/men here to know that being informed is a good thing on both parts..the patients and the docs....two heads are better than one. Hugs..PattiSue Re: I *Do* feel better! Hi, Patti, For his birthday this past year, my doctor received a copy of Shomon's book from my husband and I.
