I was having a bad time with indigestion since being put back on

anti-inflammatories, Lodine. It isn't the MTX since I've been taking it for

over 16 years. In order to live with it, I was prescribed Prilosec OTC every

day. I've since found that a half pill a day takes away the indigestion, but

occasionally I need more, so a Rolaids takes care of it. Kate, try that and

see if it will help, it did for me.

Rolaids seem to work for a little while. I'm not taking any

anti-imflammatories any more, they never did anything for me. So I take an

Advil every now and then. I'm almost positive it's the stress. Thanks for

your advise, if it gets worse or Rolaids don't cut it I'll probably end up

at the doctor.

Dennis, perhaps some DGL could relieve the heart burn. Since I have been on

NSAIDS for years, I, too stand the possibility of ulcerating my stomach. I take

the DGL and it does not take away the acid needed to digest the food, but allows

mucous to exude and line the stomach to protect it. at least that is what I have

red from several sources. I Googled it on the net after a pharmy I know well

from India suggested I check it out. It helps me a lot. I think anything that

neutralizes the acid like Tums, prilosec, etc, just causes a thing like your

stomach says, " wow! there's all that stuff coming down and I don't have and my

acid I need to digest it has been neutralized! MY MY! I'll have to make some

more acid! "

From what I understand is that the DGL helps to protect the esophagus and

stomach from the acid. I may be totally wrong, but it is working pretty well

for me.
