Anybody have any experience with this. , Is it possible that you felt so good the first week that you returned to a great many of your normal presurgery activities or are just trying to do too much? If I remember correctly, you had a 10cm fibroid removed with your surgery. You had major surgery kiddo. Just because your energy level is high and you seem okay on the outside, doesn't mean that your uterus has quite healed enough for you to be trying to do everything you did previously. Geez. You're only in your 2nd week of recovery after major abdominal surgery! Lay down. Read a book. Or two. Or more. Watch old movies. Call people -- from a reclining position. Just take it easy on yourself so your insides get the opportunity to heal properly and catch up with the rest of your mind and body. Definitely watch for fever and call your doctor if the pain persists. Don't even try to be any kind of superwoman with recovery. Get the help you need, take pain meds religiously, and rest, rest, rest. Carla week 4 post-myo and resting more than I care to as well.....but doing it anyway 'cuz I'm not interested in returning to surgery anytime soon.... Guest guest
Carla, Thansk for the advice. I have been resting as much as possible9 although my back is beginning to bother me). I actually find that walking helps and for some reason I feel better toward the end of the day and worse in the morning. I do have 3 children and they are on school vacation this coming week! I hope your recovery is going well. H. Re: post myo wrote: > I am 10 days post myo. I felt great for the first week. Guest guest
Carla, It is reassuring to know that someone else has pain beyond the immediate post op period, I just did not expect this. My gyn told me it would be like a C-sect (My first child was a C-sect) and I do not recall having any problems more than a week later. By the way, my parents were sent home after the 2 days I was in the hospital as they apparently wre more in the way and spent time criticizing rather than helping - good intentions I guess. Walking 2 miles a day is great. I walk around my block and find mysself grabbing my abdomen. Feel good. Thanks for the support. H. Re: post myo wrote: > I am 10 days post myo. Guest guest
Carla, it's nice to hear you're improving. Hopefully the pain you're still experiencing will soon run its course. That's so nice your kids are being so supportive. You should defintely take advantage of this opportunity to slow down a bit and take care of yourself. Hope all will be well soon! Regards, Jill McWhinnie Re: post myo > wrote: > > > Carla, Thansk for the advice. I have been resting as much as > > possible9 although my back is beginning to bother me).
