No Hormones Given To Pigs

Wow , that is good news!!! Why are pigs not subject to hormones?

Whatever the reason, that is great news, since we are enjoying the benefits

of their thyroid hormone:-))

As for the hormones in the food, milk etc. that we eat; I believe that is

the primary reason for the obesity problem which has become epidemic, even

among children. They don't call them " growth hormones " for nothing!!! Their

purpose is to put on weight faster for the animal. Unfortunately, being

mammals, the hormones do the same thing, weight gain, for everyone.

I read somewhere that carbonated water leaches calcium from your bones.

Re: No Hormones Given To Pigs

In a related thing - the news had a story that children are breaking

bones at an alarming rate. Instead of drinking milk they are drinking

soda pop and it is causing weak bones.

Likewise they also had a story about obesity. They showed this woman

who is 38 and obese and disabled.

As far as hormones - I read somewhere that the hormones given to

animals can also wreak havoc with female hormones.

MM Louise,

You are correct. Also, kids are not getting enough exercise-----playing,

running, jumping--------bones do not grow without exercise. But noooooo,

they sit in a classroom all day long! Something else that might interest

you is that milk is not the best source of calcium because only 40% of the

calcium in milk is bioavailable. Other natural sources of calcium need to

be given to children in addition to milk.

The hormones are absolutely wreaking havoc-------called breast cancer! Now

add hormones and other estrogen mimickers to the HRT and birth control

pills-----adds up to low sperm counts in males too!

Phosporus blocks the absorption of calcium. It binds with it. It is a

major ingredient in sodas.

Oh yea, that's right. I should think more before I jump in. Can I

blame it on brain fog :) ?
